And don't like it, will one of you buy it off of me?

If your serious , don't buy it new.
They are not worth $4000+ when you can get a used one for around $2800 and still have the lifetime warranty .

I thought it was a KILLER lead tone, but for cleans, mid-gain and rhythm playing it wasn't worth the price. It does need some volume to get the push in the low end. I preferred the depth mod off.

I like this strategy...line up a buyer first before you get it.

Especially given the current state of the classifieds...

Yup. There have been a few times I've bought something thinking that I could easily flip it if I don't like it, and end up having a tough time moving it...

SLO's will always sell. That's a buy and try and flip if you don't like price

I should have thought of this a few years ago...

Ha! They may sit but good amps eventually sell..and an SLO will. From my perspective it is the best sounding amp I've had, but very unforgiving and you have to be on your game or you will hear any shortcoming in your technique. I play it for awhile and then go to my 800 and it feels like going from a tube amp to solid state as far as ease of play. Make sure you can push the volume..you can pull 2 inner or outer power tubes, halve the impedance to the cab and get there at a lower volume. I boost mine with a cheap eq pedal and it sounds like the best modded Marshall meets a Mark series...don't know how else to describe it. But good luck...they don't like V30s as much but Greenbacks and G12 65s sound great with mine. Hope you like it..

The ones that I played didn't seem unforgiving to me. I've always done the JMP/JCM 800 with an SD-1.
Now I'm getting skeptical. I'll be able to give it volume but now I'm worried about not being able to turn it up enough to get a good tone.

Bro the SLO is such a killer amp. Picky fx loop though. I say go for it. Someone will buy it should you decide to move it. Last one i played had fresh tubes if memory serves and it was killer!!!

The volume thing is kind of a misnomer..at a low volume it does sound good. But when pushed it REALLY sounds incredible. It just doesn't show you what it can do until you get it past 2 or so..and the louder the better.

I bought one new in 98 and haven't looked back. A lot of amps have come and gone, but the slo is my go to for everything. I love it through my evh cabinet. My two cents!

I like my HR100+ just as much.
My amp searches and mods stopped once i heard the Soldano tone.

I've owned them all!!!!
Ask anyone on this board,
(Diezel, Bogner, Engl, VHT, Friedman
Cameron, Wizard, Splawn, Landry,
Custom Audio, Carol Ann, Marshall,
Mesa, Elmwood) the list goes on....
I was outta control, still might be
My current Amp is a Soldano SLO with
Factory Depth Mod...This one stays, to
the End!!! FX Loop is set up for Rack
Mounted Effects, Pedals don't work in the loop.
But you can hit the Front of the Amp with
a Pedal with Decent results.
The Overall Tone of the SLO is worth its
weight in GOLD and that's that!!

I had the exact opposite experience... tried em all and ended up selling the SLO for a Wizard Modern Classic...I'm a Marshall guy though, so....

Its a good amp... the picking lag time bothered me when soloing and rhythm playing for that matter. I think one just sold on ebay for 2400 so you would get your money back for sure.
