So, just got off the phone with Sweetwater and they are so backordered on that model that they think it could be up to the middle of next year until they get caught up. He said anything can happen but he said when the news broke, as expected, people lost their minds and started clicking the "buy" button like hot cakes. LOL

I knew I should have gotten this back when I first was thinking about it months ago. I learned a valuable lesson about how I'm not the only EVH fanboi on this earth....LOL. Well, on the positive side when I do get the guitar down the road, I'll definitely have an appreciation of it and will be worth the wait.

I know I wanted a Charvel EVH art series bumblebee about four months ago and found one for 1700.00 and thought I will get one later........I do still want one but don't want to pay 4K for it now.

Yeah, I agree. Just my own opinion but I hate when people sell stuff for outrageous prices when someone dies. It makes me wonder how much they cared about that artist in the first place.

Another thing, and I know people can do whatever they want with their guitars, but I hate to think that people are buying the guitars and will never play them. Like it is just an art piece and they will put it on their wall because they are a millionaire and just want to be part of the newest trend. There are so many guitarists out there that took all of his music in and appreciated his talent over all these years. I hope a lot of these guitars end up in players hands and they rock the hell out of it.

I finally bit the bullet and ordered a Wolfgang Special. I've been wanting one for a long while. Just figured I might as well. I would love one of the 5150 striped models... but that will have to wait. I actually thought the 5150 was cooler than the frankenstrat... but I'm weird like that lol..

Which Special did u get? I‘m thinking I’ll grab one too. I had a Peavey WG and sold it for good bucks to a guy in Taiwan. But fun guitars. A little small feeling but fun to play.

I bought the black one with the maple board. I've actually owned the amber EBMM EV and two Peavey Wolfgangs- one black and the other trans purple. Wish I still had either the EBMM or the trans purple Wolfgang. Actually, I preferred the neck on the Peavey. I also liked the fact that they came with jumbo frets. I have never been a fan of the small frets that EBMM loves to use. Although, I good refret would have made the EBMM perfect.

Weren't those EVH Frankenstrats just starting to hit the street by the time Ed passed? Seems to me they were backordered already. I wouldn't be surprised to see them eventually flood the market, sort of like the Marshall 2555x a few years ago, which made prices plummet. Now they're hot again. But I bet the EVH stuff has a steep depreciation curve before it picks back up after. few years.

Kind of has gone in cycles as well but now that he has sadly passed, that may not happen as much.

Remember the original EVH EBMMs?
I remember the going price on used ones hit record highs for that model at one point. I sold a couple of them during that time. I imagine those would be pretty pricey now!

Yeah, they were kind of slowly coming out. I think now they are going to just shoot thru the roof. If EVH is smart, they'll take advantage of this and up production.

If someone really wanted to pay tribute to EVH they should just buy a bunch of parts and build their own guitar. :D

Personally, I think part of the fun)experience/or pilgrimage of the Frankie is to make it yourself. I think now that he is gone, it is almost like you can live what he did in that moment and add your own small touches to it. Paint it, relic it, make it yours.

I have the 5150 striped on order and its gonna be a few months. I always liked that one alittle more over the Frankie.
Still though, those Frankie's look nice!

I have two EBMM EVHs and will never ever sell either of them. Mrs. Lee can sell them to raise funeral funds when I pass. But then, those guitars became irreplaceable around 1995.

Makes me wish I hadn't sold both my Frankie and the Wolfgang Custom. Will have to keep an eye out- hopefully prices will come back down.

I wonder if and how much Warmoth/Musikraft et al business increased since the passing?

I've never really connected with the Wolfgang body but still kind of wanted one. So I think I'll just build a Warmoth VIP with Wolfgang-ish specs.

My guy at Sweetwater contacted me and asked if I want to order a Frankie but that is a long wait. I'm just going to play it by ear for awhile.

KnE has stopped taking orders on new bodies due to backlog.

Just saw that. Crazy! But good on him for not cashing in on the demand with cranked prices and long wait times.

Aloha Mike,

I wonder what would happen if I put my NAMM Proto Cameron Atomica and my GMW VH2 replica up for bid. :)
