I'm selling my VH4 (partially because I don't play the music it was created to excel at that much anymore).

I want to get an amp that sounds clear, open, with excellent cleans and ORGANIC.

I already own a Fender Princeton Reverb, and a Krampe Little Joe which will go to Olaf for an interesting re tweak.

I'm looking at these:

Diesel Schmidt
Two Rock Jet
Fender Bassman

but there are other really interesting amps out there that I don't know much about, like Bad Cat, 65 amps, etc etc....

I basically need excellent cleans and a dirty channel but nothing too crazy or metal like.

I like american sounding amps, 6L6/ 6v6, but if it's the right amp and sounds good, I wouldn't mind, I'm open.

orient me please

Look into these:

Divided 13
Victoria
Two Rock

But do get a single channel amp with a pure tone and use the volume on the guitar!!!

Perhaps Carol Ann OD2 or OD3 as well? I have one coming so we'll see if it does that "thing", Other choice would be Bogner 101B or 20th. Can do the organic thing very very well.

I believe Mike Package (ratter) has a Bogner Goldfinger and loves it. May be worth checking out.

If you only need a single channel, the Deliverance is also quite open.

If you want an amp that is more open/organic and still want high gain.. The Cornford MK50II is very open with a clean type gain.... somewhat SLO-ish but with a better clean and fx loop.

Maybe a Reeves?? great builder
Wizard??

Probably not so popular with the "must be boutique" crowd, but I'd say my Lonestar 1x12 is the best sounding amp I've ever played for clean sounds. Especially with NOS tubes.

I'd throw the PT100 in there to. The clean channel is absolutely amazing but what struck me most about the gain channels are there clarity and open gain structure. It can still get heavy if needed to.

For sure a Carol Ann, either the triptik, tripR or the tucana 3

Get a Marshall 1974X and run it wide open. Back off the volume for your cleans. Enjoy tonal bliss...

Hiwatt or Roland JC120 or Blackface Fender. Also, That Jim Kelly from Suhr sounded pretty great.

have you tried a Fender super sonic?

think it might be up your alley and not too horribly expensive , always had good experiences with them and they sound great

After having gone thru a few:

SLO, DSL100, Twin Jet, Dr Z Maz 38, JVM410, 5153, MKV, MKIIC, Recto, River Knuck Tre, JCM900, various little Fenders.

I am going with the Rhodes Gemini

There are some jazzy tone NAMM clips, as well as the normal high gain material. The reason it gets the edge as the Swiss Army knife amp is that the clean channel has its own dedicated preamp tube. You can get a nice Mullard in there for a great Tele clean. Channel 2 with crunch and clean mode have their own set, and they mix to let you have a way to let v2 or v3 be more dominant in the voicing.

It is an amp you can tailor to your tone desires as they may change a bit over time. I have been on a Tele kick, doing more of the newer indie influenced music and the Gemini does a really good Blackface tone. I am letting my other amps sit for a bit. In a few more months I will be selling off a few that are no longer needed. The Gemini, MKIIC, and a little combo will do. The rest will find new homes.

True, Rhodes is hard to beat... Although I AM looking seriously at a Henning Cherry Bomb...
