Not sure why except I've never owned one but played a few that were pretty nice. Who makes a quality Flying V that can be had for a grand of less?

Classic style (rounded) or New (pointed)?

If it's a quality guitar I don't care which. I like both. If I was loaded I'd grab one of theose Custom Shop Gibson Vs with LP Custom appointments. Also love the 58 Korina V. The Jackson RR is always been a favorite to so... love the Dean Vs... you get the picture.

Schecter has some new ones this year. They look pretty nice.

This place has a like new White Edwards V with a more rounded headstock and an '05 Hamer Korina V that is just killer, they just got them in so they are not posted on the web site yet but they do have them........

They don't have them listed yet. I know because I OWN them and they are on consignment! They should have photo's up in a few days. Both are awsome.

I may catch some grief for this, but IMO if it 'aint a Gibson, it 'aint a Flying V. Start there.

Good luck.

I'd also go with a Gibson.

Missed out on a Gibby Gothic Flying V for about $600 bones recently...still kicking myself on that one

Still, I have the Star Trek one and it only cost me $425:

I picked up a white Gibby Flying V for like $450-ish. Killer sound, killer look!

Gibson Flying V's sure do look cool, but man, they're the most uncomfortable guitars around sitting or standing!
I felt that way until I bought my first V, fought with it for a week or two and adjusted to it and really began to enjoy the feel!

I agree

If you were only a few years sooner.. Gibson '67 Flying V's used to be $999.

I've always been a fan of the '67 style V.

I have an old Epiphone version of it, and love it. It's not mahogany like the real Gibson though.

I've got a red '84 Gibby that's become an awesome guitar with a re-fret and some burstbuckers. I got it from GC for $500 less than a year ago. I also think it's very comfortable sitting down as it puts the neck in a much better playing position and you can access the whole neck easily.

I played every V that I could get my hands on and I ended up coming home with a Dean.
