I've mostly been playing my Axe II over the past year. Yesterday, I plugged in my Voodoo modded DSL for the first time in about 6 months and it was glorious. I didn't even use any effects - just guitar - cable - amp - cab. I was thinking I could make the Fractal work, but there's just no comparison.

It's actually made me excited to play again.

I had an AX8 for about a month, it was fun and sounded better than the Helix my friend owns. But, after playing it and then firing up my tube amps I realized how far off it still is from a real tube amp. Sorry modeler guys...it's still a long ways off.
They are great tools for recording, and I can totally see the gigging musician using them for ease of use, and the crowd truly doesn't give a shit...lol.
I did try it through FRFR and a power amp, cab sims off etc etc.

Sweet! What mods were done?
It was the Deluxe Mod and I had something minor done to the low end. It's been my #1 since 2005 and I've bought and sold a plethora amps since getting it. It's as if I'm falling in love with it all over again.

I certainly do like the idea of frfr. I've been running the axe II into a Matrix with one Xitone and one atomic clr in stereo. And I love the idea of recording at low volumes since my wife works from home 95% of the time. Now I may have to give the two notes stuff a try.
