I use the shure psm200 but have been thinking of switching to a stereo system. What exactly does a stereo system do? I have been getting a mix from the sound guy with a little guitar, talk box, all vocals and keys. I use the 2nd channel for my guitar only so I can adjust volume from stage if need be. I'm looking at the Carvin em900...reading a lot of good reviews for the price and it is stereo.

I have the old Carvin system, it's stereo. There are right and left channel inputs and outputs. You can pick mono or stereo in the receiver. I run my wireless mic into channel one, an sm57 aimed at the band it two. I mix the levels and add verb to my vocals with an intellifex. It's all insidea 4 space rack onstage, I control everything. If you have the sound guy do it then it's whatever he's feeding into your preffered stereo mix.

That's what I'm trying to understand. I have the band in one channel and my guitar in the other. I have independent volume controls for each so I can bring my guitar up if need be. What's the difference with a stereo system???
