I had never heard of this band prior to watching TMS on Saturday night. When asked if there were any new bands that he was listening to, Jake E Lee mentioned them. I went to Youtube and checked out their tune "Adrenalize" and wasn't quite sure what to think. I cued them up again yesterday and ended up listening to a bunch of their stuff...pretty cool band.

They've been around for several albums now and have shown a definite growth to a more unique and original sound over their relatively short lifetime.

These two tunes from their most recent album kept me coming back for multiple replays...very cool stuff IMO:

They are an interesting band... Some decent songs but nothing I would willingly spend money on... Check out Straight Line Stitch if you want to see a nasty chick fronted metal band

My friend was the original drummer in the band, he now plays for Filter and James Durbin and fills in for BLS. Basically a drum ho but he is living his dream.

Funny thing is I am liking in this moment more since he left the band, but has nothing to do with him, they just moved in a different direction.

I can totally understand that...their older material is a bit more "generic" sounding. The newer stuff definitely has more of an original edge to it.

I think they have they're moments, but overall, I find their stuff pretty uninteresting. A handful of songs are great, though. I played a show with Straight Line Stitch. Completely different band.

That chick reamed a guy a new arsehole at Heavy MTL a few years back. He had a sign that said 'Show us your tits' or something like that. That sparked a somewhat unprofessional 5 minute bitch fest. I mean, we were in Montreal, it wouldn't have been all that out of place to give us a little sumpin sumpin....
Also of note the dude with dreads had 'Got Weed?' taped to the back of his guitar and the other dude used 2 EVH 5153s with a full RJM rack setup and tonnes of effects and his sound was stellar!

never knew Epiphone amps were SO brutal

i remember Jose being so excited the day of that video/song on the sirius metal channel.

they're not my thing really. i think it's that tuning and her voice. after a while, it all starts sounding like one long song. but there are a few in there i like.

i'm a chest man, so, i mean, of course i gravitated towards that aspect at first.

The guy in the hoodie is from a different band, but I saw this clip about a year ago and sort of liked it.

Their last album was much better than their most recent effort in my opinion... "Gun Show" is by far my favorite song from them... check it out!

...will agree they are a great band, their lead guitar player is PHENOMENAL but his work on their recent album is seriously limited... shame...

I saw them at Mayhem fest two years ago, and there are VERY few people who can control a crowd like they can... she made a bunch of guys get on their hands and knees in the mud and make a "bridge" through the crowd to the sound tent, then walked out and climbed on TOP of the sound tent somehow, and did the last two songs from there and had probably 5-600 people circle pitting AROUND the sound guy's tent... it was pretty intense, awesome to see and one of my cooler memories from a show actually...

Ha, that guy in the hoodie is the singer of Otherwise. My band opened for them a few weeks ago; they are pretty damn good (hell of a lot better than my band at least lol). Both guitarists had 5150 half stacks, and was surprised at how good it sounded given the 5150 cabs.

Cool tune, but IMO it lacks the creativeness of the two that I posted. It seems they've focused more heavily on the songs/hooks than on any individual performances with the newest album...at least that's how I'm seeing it.

on a different note, i was pleasantly suprised at how good the 5150 cabs sound with the 5150 too....much more....tuned? not sure how to describe it.

I think I made that assumption on my experience when I had a 5150 half stack. Unfortunately never in a live situation, just bedroom practice :/ I got the 5150 cab from straight up trading a kid my Carvin Legacy (V30) cab for the 5150 cab

since we're on the subject, this is one of my fav female fronted metal songs

i like the bands older stuff, the new album is ok and i liked it alot when i first heard it but ive grown tired of it, maria seemed cooler a few years ago. i hate her new style and she just seems annoying now. i still listen to them once and a while.

The other guy was blake, he left when my buddy jeff left the band, they both joined James Durban's band, he still plays the 5150 III's. I recently picked up one of the 50 Watt versions with matching 4x12 and 2x12 and love the amp.
