Music Zoo US Custom Shop Mahagony $1255 and US Production Model Style 2 $655 (+ $50 shipping each) :rawk:

I think I did pretty good deal-wise on these. Gonna put up my Jackson SL2H once they arrive, just don't play it enough to justify keeping it, figure I should be able to get between 11-1200 for it. And if I don't dig one/both of the Charvels pretty confident I can get my $ back if not make a bit of profit off 'em.

Very cool! Towards the end, those tele looking Charvels were getting blown out - I think you could get em new at one time for $599. I almost bought one and was going to buy a nice strat warmoth body, transplant the neck and then sell the tele shape. :) especially good deal on that mahogany. I think all the USA Charvel stratheads are great guitars, especially for the bucks. I bet you like the tone better than that Jackson also... one thing most of the Jackson soloists I've owned had in common was a kinda blah tone. I think it's because of the neck joint, personally.

Yeah I'd read that on some forums actually, but looking at what they're going on completed listings I think I still made out fairly good on the tele, though some people are asking WAY too much for certain ones IMO ;) Plus this one has a hard case, etc. which they usually don't.

I already know I'll like the tone better than the soloist as I had a US san dimas I bought in November I sent back. It had a crack around one of the trem posts, trem posts were at a serious angle and looked like possibly trem had been installed crooked from the get go. I think someone on here guessed it'd been dropped on it's front which would make sense, lol.

In spite of all that I definitely liked the tone and particularly the attack/feel better than my Jackson. I agree there's something about the neck-through neck joint that just isn't my thing in the end. Still a very well-made guitar, just not for me. It actually sounds good when I listen back to clips I've done, I just don't like how the attack feels, which I attribute to the neck-through too.

They always felt kinda spongy/weak to me attack wise. Which is a shame because USA Jacksons and Charvels are really good guitars. This is the only soloist I kept:

I think the arched maple top and the neck joint make it not sound like a typical soloist. The neck joint isn't as 'scooped' as the regular soloists are either. It's an '87 'student' archtop soloist.

Yep, spongy is a good way to describe the attack.

Thats a good deal! The black tele looks great, its badass, I hope you will like them. If I knew you could get a custom shop for this price, I don't know if I would have bought my promod, even if its great :)
