PRS S2 Standard 24 Satin Solidbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:
This guitar was designed to be a workhorse
The PRS S2 series of guitars: extreme value
Pattern Regular profile neck feels great and plays smoothly
This guitar was designed to be a workhorse
The PRS S2 Standard 24 Satin is sure to turn heads while delivering huge tone! The custom-wound S2 #7 Treble and Bass humbucking pickups deliver a massive universe of tone from shimmering cleans to blistering shred, making the S2 Standard 24 Satin the ideal workhorse guitar for any type of gig. A push-pull tone pot further fortifies your sonic arsenal with a range of spanky single-coil tones. You can deploy the onboard S2 vibrato for everything from subtle expression to full divebombs. There's a lot of guitar here, but perhaps the most amazing thing is that PRS delivers this instrument at a price that won't break a working musician's bank account.

The PRS S2 series of guitars: extreme value
In their never-ending quest for guitar perfection, PRS has created the S2 series of guitars. These guitars were designed to give you all the tone and playability that the PRS Maryland factory is known for in an affordable, beautiful instrument. Key features of this series include PRS S2 locking tuners, custom-wound pickups, the PRS Pattern Regular neck shape, PRS bridges, and a hybrid gloss finish. The PRS S2 Standard 24 Satin delivers amazing playability and big guitar tone at a killer price. Call your Sweetwater Sales Engineer and order yours today!

Pattern Regular profile neck feels great and plays smoothly
The PRS S2 Standard 24 Satin gives you a Pattern Regular-profile mahogany neck fitted with a rosewood fretboard. A hallmark of PRS quality, neck shapes are, of course, critical to your playing experience. Perfected after years of prototyping, the Pattern Regular neck carve is based on Paul Reed Smith's original, pre-factory neck design - the same one used on instruments he built in the late '80s at PRS's Virginia Avenue location. You'll love the playability and feel of the PRS S2 Standard 24 Satin electric guitar!

PRS S2 Standard 24 Satin Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:
Contoured mahogany body with asymmetric beveled top
Mahogany Pattern Regular neck with rosewood fingerboard, 24 frets, and dot inlays
PRS S2 #7 Treble and Bass humbucking pickups
Push/pull tone pot serves up spanky single-coil tones
PRS S2 vibrato bridge/tailpiece
PRS S2 locking tuners

Awesome! I'll be interested to hear how it compares to your Luke. Congrats on the score!

do these have the same pickups as the SE models?
No, the S2 models have their own pickups. There are several different pickups in the SE range, then the S2 pickups, then the higher up sets. There are a bunch of different pickups used in the SE line of guitars.

I actually have my eye on one of these myself! I already own a used PRS S2 Cu24 that I bought off the classifieds here that I like a lot, but I'm really a sucker for satin finished guitars as I also have two Suhr Modern Satins. At then you take the fact that they are available at such a great price point...use a 15% off coupon at a major online retailer and these can be had for $850 brand new for an American built PRS model...that's awesome!

Just realized something about these PRS S2 24 Standard Satin models. They come with the #7 pickups whereas the regular S2 24 Standard and S2 Cu24 come with the HFS pickups! I was so close to pulling the trigger on one of these at Sweetwater, and even got them to come down to $850, but ultimately had to pass because of the different pickups. Ironically, Musicians Friend is going to sale one of the S2 24 Standard Satin models in an exclusive finish and with HFS pickups....but their zebras, which don't look right to me in this guitar. I really want this guitar, but I'm afraid the #7's will be too vintage sounding for my taste and I really don't want to have to change the pickups in it.

**UPDATE**

I just noticed in the PRS video on Sweetwater's website showcasing the S2 Standard 24 Satin that they say in the video that they are the HFS pickups. So, I finally went to PRS's website to verify and sure enough it comes with HFS pickups: http://www.prsguitars.com/s2standard24satin/ Sweetwater's website is wrong, so looks like I'll be getting one of these after all! And, to the OP.....if for any reason you decide to send it back, you could probably get them to pay for the return shipping as they provided false info on their website, so you might keep that in mind.

Thanks for the heads up man. I'll let you know how it goes

Im ordering the 22 in a few weeks when I get a check for something, I have an S2 Mira and its top notch...Mystic I have a few MM guitars and the PRS is a nice addition and for the 850 out the door I was quoted this guitar is a steal.....
