These days I would just use an Axe-FX or a Line 6....

What I would use as well, all these amps being listed other than the recto and ss randall stuff was not even around when industrial was big.

Of course you could just use what one of the founding fathers used, a VHT.

I love Helmet, more than Ministry but I actually wouldn't consider them alike at all. If I was doing Ministry I would just use a good pedal into an 800 or get an older VS100 like Victor used with Prong. AFAIK Page used Kolbe preamps into VHT power amps, so his sound is more that preamp I would say. Some of the sounds he gets on Betty are ridiculously fat. Love that CD.

Rammstein used the earlier series Dual or Triple Rectifier, alongside a SansAmp.

By 2000 though I think they just use the Recto though.

I usually don't like Recto sounds at all (too muddy or hollow) but Rammstein's Recto tone absolutely CRUSHES:

love this sound- and it really does smash your bollocks off while evaporating the sweat off your head (I was literally a few feet from the flames)

the new Ministry is indeed great.took a while to grow on meim not big on Al's narration in the tunes or the SOD cover of "united forces".but the production and the music kill.i love Al's vox, just not the bullshit about "ex managers, wives"etc.

the dvd with the cd is awesome.

the dvd "fix, the movie" is also awesome.
i believe they are using Mesa dual rectos.both Tommy and Mike.

long time ministry fan here.

love them!!!!!!!!!!

To keep it simple. Any type of Tube Screamer through a JCM 800, I think would land you there. Simple, cheap, reliable.

I have never heard Helmet referred to as industrial... that's a new one!

Yeah I'm with you on the Manager bullshit and most of the narration by Al. I'd like some sampled dialogue instead like they usually do. They are the kings of that. The speed and intensity is great on the new album.
Al does look rough though, so he very well might have "relapsed" himself. I don't know how he's still alive. He makes Ozzy look like a school boy.
My fav DVD is Sphinctour. Albsolutely crazy amount of stamina and the performances
are stellar.

Good to see another Ministry freak here.
Most people just like a few choice tracks or albums and that's it.
The really old "new wave" stuff I'm not that into, but I have every album starting from The Land of Rape and Honey.

Yeah, a VS 8100 was my first amp head. I boosted it with a DOD EQ pedal and it slayed. That was a long time ago though. I may have to revisit that setup.
There is a HD147 used here but it comes with the giant stupid pedalboard and the guy wants too much for the thing.
