I've played a Suhr Badger a couple of days ago and liked it a lot.
So I've build me a Class A amp, PTP with loop, rectifier tube and this and that (not a copy btw, although I have the schem, just "my" interpretation of it) into a JTM 45 headshell/chassis with some fine IGPW/Shinrock transformers . Here's the result . . . with an analog delay in the loop.

You may think that the distorted sounds lack treble, but as you can see I've turned the pots to noon, so there's still plenty of everything :D

Nice weekend, RT

Olaf

Excellent work and great tone Olaf! :rawk: Hope all is well my friend!

Thanks Dan. All well, thanks for asking. How's it in the UK?

Oh, btw: I've ordered a 800s chassis from Modulus (Scotland, I think) and will install a nicely pissed off Marshall into it this week :D

That sounds really nice. You could cover a lot of ground with that.

Sounds pretty tasty! I wish I could get inspired one day and then "a couple days later" have a sweet amp that I built. Nice work.

am i the only one that caught.....?

"i played a <insert amp here> a FEW DAYS AGO..
so i was inspired to build a new amp....a few days later...here's my vid..." !!!!!!!!!!!

awesome sounding man...amazing quick work too!

Thanks. As I've said ampbuilding isn't rocket science,
its actually pretty easy and some guys are just
ridiculously (spelling?) trying to mystify a pretty basic
technology.

I like your attitude: "liked it a lot, So I've build me a Class A amp"

The end of the clean tone has a classical guitar vibe to me. Brilliant.

BTW, I like the Heisenberg comment.

All is well in the UK thanks Olaf! Let me know how you get on with that Modulus chassis. I have ordered some high quality FR4 Turret boards from them before, and they make good stuff.

The chassis is nice, Dan. I'm still waiting for some other parts like an IEC in (normally I'm using those with a built in fuse, so I don't stock the basic one - lol). The transformers are from Tube Town and I hope that the OT will sound as good as the Drake I've had in my '76 JMP before I sold it (stupid me) . . . I just need to find a better guitarist to record that amp for me then.
It will have 4 stages and a LND150 driven Loop. No other bells or whisles, just straight forward, you know . . . Tube Town sells them ( the loop PCBs) (if you should need any for your work and you don't want to order in the US for tax/custom reasons) . . .

Olaf

Once again you produce an absolutely stellar sounding amp...I loved everything I heard. That said, you truly get some of the most beautiful sounding clean tones that I've ever heard. I've heard it in your other amps and I hear it again with this one...well done!

And yep, great sounds & playing.

What's a good specific reference for a "pissed off" type of Marshall sound?

As always Herr Doctor,

That sounds amazingly great Olaf my friend. How have you been?
