I put an EMG Afterburner in one of my guitars. Just for those times I’m sitting in with a band or backline situation for some extra gain. I’m impressed!! Very transparent and useable. I’m using it with passive pups too, pretty cool little simple mod!!

I have one in my custom shop ESP 7 string and it's awesome for leads. Congrats!

My friend has an old Travis Miguel sig ESP Viper that comes with the afterburner and it actually sounds sick with a PV 5150! Lol

What is the difference, if any, between this EMG thing and other onboard "boosts" like those you might find on a Music Man JP/Majesty, or even the boosts/preamp on many USA BC Rich guitars? I like the concept of something on my guitar I can switch on to goose my output, however after having used several (like those I've mentioned) I've never been blown away by the results.

I’ve never tried any of the above you mentioned. The Afterburner is very transparent. kinda like an extra volume that goes from 11 to 20. and I should say I would never use it as part of my normal tone. Its just handy if youre using a back line amp and need some extra gain
