Hello,

I just want to share this with you guys... I purhaced two new G12K-100 speakers and istalled those to my Diezel FL 412 cab. It has now 2 x V30 and 2 x K100 mix as X-pattern.

Before I was a bit skeptical with the K100 because of the steril sound clips/vids on the web. Anyway I still wanted to try V30/K100 mix because everybody has recommended this. Now I'm very happy with this new mix with VH4. Those speakers really suplement eace other very well IMO

I just did the same thing last week. I love the combination of the V30/K100 with the VH4. The combination of speakers compliment each other very well.

I have a rear loaded diezel same pattern had the same in my fl but the rear load had more depth to it for me. Still great combo of speakers.

Anybodys run a 2x12 version of this? One V30 and one K100 that is.

I'm also curious to hear opinions on this. I really dig the combo in a 412 but I need something I can fit in the passenger seat of my Mustang.

Hey y'all,

I've been reading posts concerning mixed speaker cabinets for quite a while now. And maybe someone can clear this up for me because I don't seem to get the point:

Mixing speakers in one cab does make sense to me in terms of having my favorite sound in the rehearsal room, or bedroom. As I am a practically thinking kind of guy and I don't play to rehearse but to record and play out, I'm wondering what kind of benefit I would have in those situations.

Like: Will a mixed speaker configuration have an effect on my live sound? I mean in live situations in 99% of the scenarios a speaker will be close-mic'd and then you'd literally have no influence on the overall guitar sound coming out of the PA. In this case, which speaker will be mic'd? The V30 or the K100? Or both? And will a close-mic'd V30 sound different in a mixed speaker cab than in the same cab with only V30s? Will this tonal difference matter at all when an inch in different mic placement will change the sound a lot more?

These are the things I've been wondering about for a while now. Because I've been thinking about experimenting with the speakers in my cab. I'd just only put up the hassle if it really makes a difference that can be reproduced live and on CD.

Greets,

Till

Now just swap those V30s for Texas Heats and bathe in the massive warmness. (My favorite speaker combo).
