Sifting through the local to me GC used gear pages. This is currently at the Atlanta store, listed as a "One Off for NAMM 1987." Pretty cool vibe to it if you like that era.

Couldn't copy the link straight to the guitar so I just nabbed the photo and upped it to my bucket...

Love the fully scalloped fret board, I've built a similar guitar:

You know it's a good scallop job when you can see the side dot inlays from the top....

yep ... first one I did I went way to deep, was cool to play but the neck was really unstable

Yeah, you really don't need to remove much wood.

Cool guitar! Oddly enough, for as much as I LOVE Yngwie, I have never played a scalloped neck.

You have to try it! It's actually very satisfying to play, especially on solos, huge amounts of control

Looks like a model series neck and with the floyd nut conversion, trem recess, 'wrong' bridge plus the control layout is weird, I'm saying mutt.

I agree that the layout is weird- especially that the pickup selector is between the two knobs.

It looks like a Model 1 or 2 which may have been tricked out? Model 1 and 2's had a single bridge pup, single knob, 22 frets on a bolt on neck.

I own a Model 5 from this era which is a dual humbucker, neck thru 24 fret, 3 knobs and a 5 way selector off to the side of the knobs.

If it is genuine, looks like they may have based it on this?

Could be anything LOL The control config is wrong for a model 3A, and the recess is wrong for any of the model series.
