Hi everyone first off let me say hello, this is my first post here, first of many I hope. I joined because I've just entered head+cab territory as an owner for the first time and this seems to be the best resource for all types of info about it. The more I read up the more I realized I had a lot to learn.

As the title says I've just bought a Nitrox. I'll admit right here I've never played one. Before you call me crazy I will say I have played the Spec Op and liked it immensely. The Nitrox is a cheaper relative, with no volume boost (not needed) and instead of the low frequency switch the focus on lows is emphasized. It's a bit of a risk but given how things are regarding gear here in Spain I think I've made a good decision.

I also have lots of questions and this is the first one. The head is 100w output and I am currently in the market for an accompanying cab, and I was hoping for some recommendations. Avatar cabs are out of the question, and everything Mesa is ridiculously overpriced here. I am looking at Diezels, despite their (imo) high costs, Engl, Marshall...hope you guys can help!

I play mostly hard rock, metal so Im looking for something that can deliver tight low-end, Ive heard front loaded/closed back is the best option for this, is this true?

Also, what about speaker types. Many people have said that nothing changes your sound more than the type of speaker....most options have V30s, but I wonder how those compare to others? I saw an interview with Peter Stapfer and remember he specifically mentioned that V30s arent the best for heavy riffs/palm muting etc...

Anyway thanks again!

What's up man. RIght now I have a Rear loaded Diezel w/V30's. The cab itself is awesome, and I have absolutely no qualms about it; better construction than your standard Marshall or Mesa IMO. I'm never completely happy with V30's though. They can do the heavy stuff, but it depends on the amp IMO; the V30's are very beamy and are prone to getting woofy and harsh. If I was in you position I'd check out the new Diezel Front Loaded cab with celestion G12K-100. They're made out of different wood(s) and are supposed to be nicer. I haven't heard them yet (I'm not sure if any are in the U.S. yet), but it "sounds" like it may be what you're looking for.

fearhk - thanks a lot for the info. I havent seen that Diezel cab with the G12Ks though, at least in 212 cabs. From their website I think they're only available in 412s? If that's the case I think a 412 is a bit overkill for me at this point.

After much searching I think what Im looking for, ideally, is this:

4 or 8 ohms impedence
closed back
V30s or if possible, another alternative. I too have some reservations about V30s though they arent bad. Not interested in Greenbacks though

and the kickers:
side handles
casters

I am not arnold, and while Im no weakling, I like my back and I want it to last another 50 or 60 years if possible. so for example the recto cabs are out because they only have the top handle.

Does anyone know of any 212s that fit these requirements?

I played and just bought the diamond nitrox, Freakin Wicked Brutal! I think it beats the snot out of the spec op,well thats what its supposed to do, anyway I played it thru a diamond cab w/v30s i hate v30s ,then i played it thru a engl cab w/v60s oooohhhh so much punch, anyway I use Basson Sound cabinets loaded with eminence legends,no better cab out there, play my diezel herbert, splawn nitro, mesa triple recto and marshall dsl50 thru em,this cabinets are the best, they ket you crank your lows but no sacrifice to mids or highs,no muddynesss or breakup. tight!

Nitrox rules!

Itll be here monday or tuesday.......sssssstoked yeah! gimmie a hellyeah!

Interesting. V60's? That's my first time hearing of those.

Orange 2x12"s are great cabs.

I swear by mine. I run a Diezel Einstein through it and the sound is awesome.

it was an engl pro cab sorry bout the v60s I thought thats what the saleman at the store told me,However I did not like the diamond spitfire cabinet, no low end.

He's right, there is a V60. From what I read they're made for ENGL.

I thought the V60s were the Diezel Sig speaker that aren't made anymore.

I might be wrong though.

well to me and for me it doesnt matter I use all Basson cabinets... to me are the best.

V60's are in Engl cabs...From what I've heard, they are more closer to G12T75's in tone than Vintage 30 voiced.

The Diezel speaker is an eminence. I read the V60 was a celestion, but it's not on the site so who knows
