IR-J, Motu M2 and iPad volume

Question:
I use my volume knob quite a bit on my guitar.

However I am noticing that playing along with tracks in YouTube the video volume is too loud. I can play along at full guitar volume, and it’s not bad, but I wish my guitar was a hair louder. If I turn up my input, I start to clip.

This situation also takes my volume knob out of the equation. If I turn down a hair, just gets harder to hear my clams…

Is there a way to turn down the YouTube playback on my volume (iPad) in my headphones so that I can use my guitar volume knob?

My buddy has mentioned he purchased the Walrus Canvas Rehearsal pedal. Seems like a good choice?
