Logic user here. I use LAConvalver (free) and Re.Cabinet 3 for impulses. Tons of free impulses on the web.

Two Notes still has a free version of their plug in. Check it out. Sounds good and excellent latency.

I don't think you can load IRs with Recabinet. You're stuck using their software. Two Notes allows you to load IRs, but honestly once you start playing with their setup, you won't want to.

True but there impulses sound darned good.

LAConvalver still get a lot of use from me though. Also, I just downloaded the AU version of LePou's cab loader. Have not tried it yet though.

reza, get the two notes. The kerozen cab should get you near youre diezel v30, its moddeld after that

Impulses are getting crazy good seriously.... i mean they sound a tad too consistent in spots but overall holy smokes.. I compared a greenback cab to my real cab with greenies and i was thinking the experiment outcome was pretty solid. Those AMT pedals sound great as well. Was any sort of power amp used?

The Two Notes has a free version that's really limited. But the Two Notes "metal" pack is only like 60 bucks, IIRC. It has most of the cabinets most of us here would need. The full version costs a couple hundred but has more bass and vintage cabinet models.

Factor in the cost of an ilok, too. I think it has to be the ilok2, but not sure.

It's not the cheapest DAW IR solution, but I think it does sound the best and has some nice options (mic positioning, eq, compressor, etc). The power amp sims work pretty well for someone that just wants to use the effects send or line out of their amp.

I believe that pack is called "modern", btw.

I forgot about the iLok. I use Mac/Pro Tools so I already had an iLok 2 and since there aren't as many option for Mac/PT users, it was the best option for the cost in my case. I've tried a handful of plugins, Two notes is my favorite. I prefer miking a cabinet though.
