Hi guys!

Is Chorus effect time based or pitch based?

thanks! cheers!

Pitch primarily, but there's also a time component. Phasers and Flangers are time based.

It is actually both.

The audio signal is time-delayed using one or more delays, and the delays are slowly modulated to give a slight pitch change to the delayed signals to approximate the effect of two or more people playing the same notes, but not quite in time/pitch with each other, as would normally occur.

This page has good explanations of different effects:

Both.

And a harmonizer can take both components (time, pitch) and really tweak and stretch them out... you could call it a "super chorus".

Tony Agnello (who invented the Eventide H910) was quoted as saying of his product, "It fucks with the fabric of time".
