Is it a Telecaster or is it a Les Paul?

Doctor Love
Who is going shopping for guitars today? You may want to consider this one - I had no idea this guitar existed until I saw it on the rack at Earle Teat Music in Delmar, Delaware. I also had no idea that Fender made Fender branded guitars in Indonesia.
This one is an odd duck, half Les Paul, half Telecaster and it's so gorgeous!
Remember to please shop at your local music store this holiday season!
Have a mediocre weekend

I have the Jim root squire which is the same set up as that one basically. It is a killer guitar. These cheaper guitars from Indonesia and Vietnam can be killer. There’s still garbage out there but damn it has gotten better. I’m 52 and now and it’s a completely different game with everything available now compared to how it was when I first started playing. It’s pretty awesome actually…

I had one of these in a spalted maple veneer for a long time. It was a looker and played really well. Needed some love on fret dressing and needed to have the soldering cleaned up on a pot, but an insanely good option for someone who wants an open access fret joint at that price. It also sounded great. If I remember correctly the radius was flatter, the frets were a bit larger than a normal fender telecaster, and the body was thinner. It was the LP axcess of telecasters lol.

At first I felt a little douchey spending some coin on an Indo guitar, but those strandbergs are top notch. Country of origin means less and less every year.
