IS it Cameron or the amp?

Finally listened to some new Cameron clips and wow Mark's clip using an I-Phone is great, smoking really while the others while cool were not sounding like his was. Seemed to miss that aggressive digging in tone that Pyschodave gets as well. Upper mid thing I guess, maybe these two dial in different than the others.

Was Mark using the same production amp? Tubes?

All I know is that Mark can rip on guitar

I recorded it on the fly after 8 Heinekens with my cell phone so take it with a major grain of salt as I probably shouldn't of posted such low quality stuff but what the hell. All was the same amp with whoever was playing it dialing it in.

Mark Day as well as Premier Guitar recorded some proper video clips and will post them once he gets over the jet lag. Everyone agreed on site that it was insanely good and monstrous sounding. You need to hear one for yourself to understand but it flat out rips.

Dweezil Zappa changed all of his Axe presets to the CCV and then came in and played the real thing and was loving it fyi...

I think it's fair to say that Mark Cameron and Dave are better players than me (for example) so I'd expect them to make the amp shine a bit better than I can. It's all good though.

A buddy of mine was at the LA amp show, and said the best thing he heard was a Cameron being played by Pete Thorn! He said the tone was MASSIVE, as in, it could easily fill a stadium!

The best Camerons that I have ever played were his Modded Marshalls. The CCV's, while cool, werent in the same ball park IMHO...

And hell yeah, Mark Cameron can tear it up...

+1. Probably because they're Marshall's.

Guess I need to drink more when recording :D

Heard 3 different CCVs and played 2, very cool amps but have massive domination covered

Guess it is the player because the clip with Mark is my fav from the bunch.

Please don't underestimate the difference a guitar and its pickups make. Staggering....

These are; first time I played one of the new ones, the first thing out of my mouth was that it sounded/felt closer to the mods.

The amps at the show were killer, and MULTIPLE people sounded great.

Mark C is definitely a great player, but the amp is doing its part, too :D

I guess Mark's and Dave's guitars are keepers!

Cool, the biggest difference that I noticed about previous CCV's was the feel. Marks modded Marshalls had feel for days....

Just to expand on my point. The variance in guitars/pickups/strings/picks/speakers/cab/cables/player has to be 100 fold vs the variance in a well produced line of amplifiers.

Get Rockstah on one and I bet without much fuss he could make it sound brown.

Obviously different players with different guitars will sound different, so call me mr obvious... Lol! The important thing is how YOU sound playing it with your guitar and how you feel playing it. I had fun playing the amp and I enjoyed the tone with my guitar and my hands :). Digi you should try to play one and see how you dig it. Might be hard though, I dont know if there's one in your proximity. Sounds like you need a namm trip

Been to namm, 2007  Awesome experience and would love to do it again, my feet had blisters after the 3rd day. Only bad part was seeing Paul Stanley up close, his face from all the work is joker like

Played the ccv, very very cool amp but have it covered with what I have. I need to spend more time playing than gassing so I can play a plexi like you  I guess I like Mark's style when he plays through the amp, it just sings in his hands.

Another clip. I used my R09-HR for the audio.

Sounds good Mark. Can you post settings that Mark used?
