and if so, point it my way, cuz I love the BB, its versatility, the warmth...all there....I am open to try others though...Lovepedal Eternity maybe?

I haven't tried the BB preamp yet, though it is on my list.

Here are a few I really like:

Hermida Audio Zendrive
MI Audio Blues Boy Deluxe
HBE Plank Cranker

I have a Timmy on order, that is supposed to be a killer sounding pedal. I am going to be doing an overdrive/distortion pedal shootout when I get my Timmy in and see what is going up for sale.

If you like what it's giving you, probably not.

I've turned to an OD-aholic in the past 6 months. I actually made an 'OD" board with the following:

BB Preamp
MXR/CAE GT-OD
Maxon OD808
Greazygeo modded SD-1
Fulltone OCD
Crowther Hotcake
Keeley Rat

None of them have 'that' warmth/smoothness of the BB.
I have a few more coming in (Lovepedal PurplePlexi, Crunchbox, Skull Crusher Toy Box) to compare...

there definetely is! i just got my BB a few days ago, and while i think its a great low gain OD, i guess by all the vids ive seen i figured it was capable of alot more gain. not sure if im keeping this bad boy, i like the keeley ts9 flexi better

Never played the BB but the OCD (v3), Plank Cranker and Crunch Box are so far my faves.

The BB is my favorite out of the ODs I've tried (in order of preference below). I really want to try the Maxon OD9+ and the BB Preamp +

BB Preamp
Analogman Silver Modded Maxon OD9
Maxon OD9
Maxon OD808
HEB Powerscreamer with Fat Boost
Bad Monkey
MXR 10-Band EQ (when used as a boos)

I think the BB works better with an already mildly distorted amp. I played it with the gain dimed into a clean amp and its definitely more of a boost then an overdrive IMHO. The emma and J&H pedals have more gain then the BB for sure.

yeah i guess so, im still trying to get the level of gain henderson gets when he's demoing his bb, although when he shows his clean tone there is just a hint of grit on it, i guess that makes all the difference

It really does with that pedal. I wouldnt pick it to heat up a clean amp but it works great with an amp that already has some grit. Almost all the guys demoing the BB have there amps setup with a bit of dirt.

I like the BB a lot on the R2 channel of the Mark III. I ditched the MI-Audio pedals once i heard the BB. I never have directly compared it to the OCD.

I agree...the BB does wonders to a mid-gain amp. I'm also loving my bone stock MIJ SD1

That's good to know, sounds like the BB preamp wouldn't be for me, at work well for many of my amps. I guess I ask alot of overdrives, I like them to work well as a boost and into a clean amp too....

I do still want to try a BB preamp though, it may be just what my mark IV R2 channel needs

I don't use mine all that much, I wouldn't miss it if it were gone for a little while, I'll loan you mine for a few days if you'll PM me your address.

IMO..I still think my old grey DOD overdrive 250 wins. Its got no compression and feels really spongy/bubbly , lots of juice, completely transparent..but on the bad side, noisy as hell. The BB is on my pedal board though as well and i love it too. And of course an old TS808 is great for really cutting through a band mix.

I had a BB and sold it. Everything in my signature is cool and just a bit different from each other. Keep in mind I'm driving a low watt amp with these pedals.

I dont like the gray DOD with humbuckers. Too mushy.

yep, forgot to mention that. The bb or 808 are it if i play humbuckers for sure.
