I think the BB works better with an already mildly distorted amp. I played it with the gain dimed into a clean amp and its definitely more of a boost then an overdrive IMHO. The emma and J&H pedals have more gain then the BB for sure.[/quote
yeah i guess so, im still trying to get the level of gain henderson gets when he's demoing his bb, although when he shows his clean tone there is just a hint of grit on it, i guess that makes all the difference

That's good to know, sounds like the BB preamp wouldn't be for me, at work well for many of my amps. I guess I ask alot of overdrives, I like them to work well as a boost and into a clean amp too....
I do still want to try a BB preamp though, it may be just what my mark IV R2 channel needs![]()
