is there a new version of the be-100?

have there been any changes or additions to the BE-100

new voicing switches, footswitches etc?

i thought i read some where that there are some new added features!
 
the latest version of the be-100 comes with all the old mods (c45, sat, fat) and also comes stock with the vh switch and is footswitchable. Also, they are apparently using a different transformer than before. This is what I was told but hopefully Dave or someone else can officially confirm...
 
It now has switchable HBE,line out and the vh voicing switch. There is no new transformers. Awhile back we switched chokes and power transformer but not output transformers.

Bit more bass and top end. So a bit more open but it's slight change. Maybe a touch more gain but slight.
 
I'm going to be ordering a BE-100 this week! Super pumped!!!
 
Can a VH voicing switch be added to a BE modded Randall module?

BE- Basic crunch overdrive. Anything from classic rock to vh territory. It has about double the gain of say a stock 800/ jmp. Can get all sorts of plexi tones but has the ability of more gain.

C45- Similar to the BE but with a slightly smoother tone and just a tad more gain. Really just a different voicing.

HBE- adds a extra gain stage to the BE. Sort of like the BE was being pushed with a pedal. Gobs of gain with still retaining the British voice.

SAT- Is a diode clipping circuit. Adds gain sort of 80's metal kind of thing. Mainly to be used with the BE channel.

JBE- to be used with the SAT and the BE shifts the low end to a lower frequency and make the tone heavier .

FAT- adds more lows to the preamp. Good for strats and tele's.

Effects loop- well self explanatory .

SIMPLE CLEAN- single knob clean with no eq and a bright switch. Sort of like a normal channel of a Vox. Presence still works with the clean.

FULLCLEAN- Clean with a full eq in the blackface vein.

Can a VH voicing switch be added to a BE modded Randall module?
 
I tried a brand new BE-100 next to my BE-100 (which has the new transformers and all the changes they made before this newest editio) It has everything except the VH switch and the footswitchabe BE/HBE.

Honestly I did not really notice a big difference with the VH switch in the new amp at all. I must be deaf or the thing is really reallly and I mean really subtle.

Its good to have the footswitch to toggle between the BE and HBE though.
 
VH switch is subtle but noticeable. It's fun but not night and day.
If mine didn't have it , I wouldn't take the trouble to send it to Dave to have it added.

And my friend already has a Pink Taco. I tried it out and LOVED it!!!
