Is there a rackmount midi looper/phrase sampler available?

In my rig I need a looper and a phrase sampler, but as I'm already hauling around a rack I would like to integrate everything in it, and I don't like having to connect two long cables to have the looper pedal under my feet next to my midi pedalboard.

Is there something like a digitech jamman in rack format with midi? It seems like no big company is making one, and the not very known ones that do haven't had any available for some time.

the lexicon MPXG2 has a phrase sampler built in, based on their Jamman unit. I've not used that feature, but I know it's in there.

you could use the line6 M9 or M13, and put it in your rack, and use the midi functionality to use the looper/phrase sampling

it accepts different CCs for rec/overdub etc.. so i can see that working, otherwise I don't really have any ideas

Thanks for the replies guys. Unfortunately, both the lexicon and the Echoplex are discontinued and are quite limited for their price.

The line6 M9 is a cool idea, maybe if it could store samples and phrases permanently I'd buy it but I already have very nice and expensive fx units in my rack. Why cannot anyone make just put a midi digitech jamman or a boss rc-50 in a 1HE rack?

well for live phrase sampling i don't think there's really anything out there,

unless you start hooking up a PC and various software, but then you're looking at other issues

i think it's basically that the demand isn't really there for something that is midi controllable as you usually need to tweak/select different things and set things off differently, which needs a floorboard by itself, or what most manufacturers do just combine the two together,

i'd get the rc-50 or jamman and deal with the extra cabling, will be ultimately easier to use/hook up imo

I have already tried it university81, and having to plug/unplug the two audio cables from and to the rack and the looper's power supply every rehearsal/gig is not very fun when combined with all the other rack stuff.
