$700 for a JCM800 2205

"Selling Marshall jcm-800 model 2205 50 watt head in excellent shape includes footswitch........ firm on price local pickup only will not ship"

It's about a 25-30 minute drive for me.

Good price but it depends on what year it is. If its a REAL early first run, Id avoid it like the plague! They had problems with the design bigtime (I know because I own one ;) )

If its a mid to late 80's then

+1. I'd look for a '86 (I think that is around when the channel bleed was corrected) or later. That corresponds to a serial number with a first letter no earlier than U.

shit.

I'm glad I asked.

thanks for the advice.

Yeah man, When I took my Early 80's 2205 to my amptech he told me that it couldn't be fixed without pretty much re-disigning the amp. Marshall changed the circuit shrtly after because the realized there was a design flaw.

I gave the amp to Olaf but I haven't been able to ship it to him because of the shipping prices!! I know that he could make the amp work for him!

Was it just a channel bleed problem, or was it more than that? I had the combo version - it had a bleed problem - I just used the gain channel and kept the clean channel down.
