Is this a good deal on Mesa 2C+ on Craigslist San Fran?

No built-in eq... no thanks. It makes a huge difference in the sound.

Would putting a Mesa 5 band eq in the loop sound the same?

Nope. It will still sound different. Closer, but different. The built-in eq is placed at a different location in the circuit, and at a higher voltage. The internals of the sliders themselves are different too.

60w, no eq and an upgraded 2C means it's worth under 2K IMO.
