Is this speaker wire good for...

...internal wiring of a 4x12 cab?

I have a bunch of this 14 gauge wire left over from my home stereo runs.
Yay or nay?

If I solder direct to tabs...do I just lay the wire flush against the tab, or should I hook it through the tab hole?

If there is hole I like a good mechanical connection first, if not solder em on.

What I like to do is strip back about 1/2" to 3/4" of sheathing, put it through the hold, and bend the last 1/4" at 90 degres so it is basically an L shape that way you get a solid mechanical connection, but it is not too bad to un-solder, and remove the wire if you change speakers in the future.

I used to bend the wire all the way back, and it is almost impossible to remove it.

yeah, i used to do the insert, L, then twist....then solder.

no good, buddy (as my russian friend at work says).

L is fine.
