I have a G String in my rack and it is set up last in line. Not sure if this is correct or not

I run my ProRack G first for the guitar in. and the second channel in the FX loop. there are probably other ways of doing it, but this way works well for my rig.

if you have a g string it was designed to go last. the g string model has the detection circuit separated with a loop so you can place the detector first after the guitar but the gate after preamp so ALL noise can be attenuated.

the reason for this is so you can set the gate high enough to kill the noise on the dirty channel without winding up with a gate that is set too high when switching to the clean side.

the g string and the rackmount are two different unit not to be confused with each other.

to clarify plug the guitar into the g string then into the amp. place the unit in the fx loop after all but delay pedals to avoid gating your repeats.

hope this helps.
