ISP pro Rack decimator and RJM RG-16, powering options?

Hey guys. I have both of these, and there power options are kind of irritating. They both come with "wall warts" 9 VAC power adapters, that, in my rack, are kind of cumbersome, seem unsturdy (especially compared to the power cables of my amps, and the audio cables) and the wallwarts just generally take up too much space. What other options do I have instead of using these? I don't believe the voodoo labs pedalpower/ powerbrick will work with the RG-16...help!? thanks guys! :D

According to the RJM manual, the rg-16 requires "9VAC @ 450mA, 12VDC also acceptable
5.5mm OD, 2.5mm ID x 9.5mm barrel connector" which is from pg 14 in the manual http://www.rjmmusic.com/manuals/RG-16%20Manual.pdf

That being said, the Pedal Power AC should be able to power that. The pedal power AC has (according to the manual) "Two 9VAC at 600mA and Two selectable 9/12VAC at 1200mA " . So the Pedal Power AC should be able to power the rg-16 with no problem.

According to the ISP site, the pro rack requires "680mA @9VAC" so the Pedal Power AC should be able to power both with no problem

Mrkmas thanks again for the help! For some reason I was under the impression the pedal power didn't work, I thought I read that somewhere...maybe not. Would the pedal power AC be "too much" for standard pedals, the only pedals I run behind my rack is a maxon od808, and a holy grail reverb...for now atleast...

Not a problem, I am happy to help but realize one thing.
Most pedals use DC power including those you listed like the maxon and holy grail. They would need the Pedal Power 2+ or Iso-5 (sticking with the voodoo labs theme). The 2+ and Iso both convert 120v AC from the wall and convert it to DC to power the pedals.

The Pedal Power AC takes the 120v from the wall and drops it down to 9-12v depending upon what output you use.

It is important to have a basic understanding of this since using the wrong one can and will damage equipment. Always make sure you know the following when powering something. Does it need AC or DC, how many Milliamps does it need, voltage required (some devices will take a range. For example Fulltone OCD will take 9v-18v DC. This is overall rare though and most require a specific voltage), and if it is center negative or positive.

The "regular" pedal power that people use to power their stompboxes (DC) which is this one http://www.voodoolab.com/pedalpower_2.htm will power the maxon and holy grail without issue. This will NOT power anything that requires AC such as the rg-16 or prorack since they require AC. Now the Pedal power AC http://www.voodoolab.com/pedalpower_ac.htm will power AC items as long as they are 9 or 12v and meet the ampage requirements which both the rg-16 and prorack do. Now hooking up the maxon pedals to this will result in gear quickly being blown to bits.

I hope that makes sense.

When powering pedals, the mental checklist I go through is this
1: AC or DC?
2: Voltage?
3: ampage required ( Usually listed as ma which is milliamps)
4: center positive or negative connector

That tells you everything you need to know.

Makes perfect sense thanks! So there's no product that will power both safely?

I dont think I have ever seen any single unit that did both.

Yea I figured unfortunately that would be the case. Unfortunately that's a lot of money as well to just power 2 rackmounts! By the way I'm still gonna send pics of the rack to you, I went to home depot and got those mounting pads, they work GREAT!

Yah, the cost of power supplies adds up fast. Glad to hear those sticky squares are working for you.
I shall be owaiting the pictures
