ISP Technologies Decimator G-String doesn't get rif of my

noise. I tried it before and after the boost pedal and tried it in the loop. My be something else like ground loop hum???? Any suggestions?

By the way I would like to thank Lordtoneking for letting me try his pedal. Just another reason this forum is the best!!

I have my Decimator at the very end of my pedal chain... :dunno:

Then run the other line in and out of the effects loop. Should take care of all the noise. Just fiddle with the threshold to find the right setting.
 
Are you sure you have it connected properly? No offense intended....I was initially confused with four inputs instead of the standard two...

I also like to run it almost last in the chain....I always put my reverb and slight delay last...Otherwise the Deci will eat them!

Yeah. I run my reverb/modulation in the loop and am only using a Decimator. Not the g-string. I'd run it before that kind of stuff too.

Use the top input/output for the loop chain and the bottom for the pedals you're running in front of your amp.

Well can you give me the specific hook up that you use as far as the inputs and outputs on the pedal?
 
Guitar to either OD/DS pedals or straight to Decimator "Guitar in" --> Guitar out --> Amp In --> amp loop send --> Dec in --> Dec out --> verb/delay/chorus --> amp loop return.

I think I got that right...

I believe I tried this but will try again.
 
There is only one decimator in a g string! It is very different from a pro rack G. The guitar in, guitar out is guitar tracking so the gate can close more accurately, it is not a decimator. The g string does NOT have two decimators in it like a pro rack G. The Dec in and dec out is the decimator part of the G string, not the guitar in guitar out.

If you try to use the guitar I/O to get rid of pedal noise, it will never work since it isn't a decimator.

The guitar should go straight into the ISP, dirt between ISP and amp input(blue) and time based pedals between the ISP and effect return.(red)..

^100% correct right there...the guitar input is only for tracking...not for noise reduction.

An NS2 infront of the amp would work. Put the pedals in the loop of the NS2 then take the out of the NS2 into the front of your amp.

I actually did not know that.

Seems like everything has been covered in this thread now though. Thought the G-String was prorackg like.

I guess I don't understand why yours isn't working unless it's a faulty unit...Did you buy it locally? Somewhere where you could exchange for another...

This thing is seriously THE BEST....I can't imagine it would do nothing unless something is wrong....And as far as the Pro Rack goes the GString pedal is one half without the trim knob....Two decimators in the Pro Rack is for stereo usage I thought....Do some of you run both in your rigs?
