Hey all...

Looking for opinions on the heavy guitar sound for this one...

https://adammclean.bandcamp.com/track/dream-wind

I'm so used to using Lowpass Filters (eq compensated cab sims like the old ADA Microcab, CabClone, Palmer) that stuff like the Two Notes and other IR's sound odd to my ears. However, I'm using the Theta Pro's Creamback cab sim on the heavy guitars... I wanted it to 'bite' and it feels like it does...

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Sounded great to me Adam, much better than that low pass filter but you know how I feel about that :)
I prefer the 4x12 Greenback sim myself, just sounds bigger and fuller than the 1x12 Creamback, although as you said it has great bite to it, especially for the solos. Your soloing reminded me so much of George Lynch!

At home when I like to plug into a cab, I go from the Theta Pro to the Stealth to a Marshall 2x12 with Creamback 65s and it sounds awesome. So maybe I should give that Creamback sim more play.

What presets were you using for the clean, rhythm, and solo?

Thanks man! George is a compliment I'll take! He's SO good... I'm a far cry, but he and Rhoads are some of my favorites... Jake E. Lee and Demartini as well...

All the 'woody' sounding cleans are my Ibanez semi-hollow run direct... EMG HA and HAX. The 'bright' or 'thin' tones are the ISP Theta with tons of compression, chorus, delay and reverb going for that 80's POWER WINDOWS/HOLD YOUR FIRE cleans from Alex Lifeson... none of them are the stock presets... but, I think Creamback might be based on either the DIO preset I wrote with Buck, or the VAN DIRTY preset with the Theta as opposed to the Vintage preamp and tons more gain, of course...

Any other thoughts?
