I had to change this:

into this:

robin_floyd.jpg

I'm a bar freak, what can I say... While I have some regular fender bridges that kinda stay in tune, these Charvel brass bridges just WILL NOT, no matter what nut sauce I throw on it   and nothing (for me) beats a Floyd...

...and yes, that is a titanium floyd - all parts are titanium (even the bar) an yes, I'm completely stupid for paying that much for a Floyd, and yes, I only did it because I think it looks cool, not any tonal magic...

While the purists will hate me for this, I am thrilled!

And here's two 21 fretters from the Zoo (Musiz Zoo Robin's Egg Blue Early Serialized and Nitro Series). Monsters, both of 'em:

looks good. Ive been thinking it would be so awesome to have a basswood charvel 7 string with a hipshot bridge.

:rawk:

I have always LOVED the Floyds over the non-locking trems, back in the day.

You Rock Steve! I don't care what anyone else says. ;)

I'm gonna vote for you.

Floyds rule. FTW. Man, I dig that birdseye on that neck.
I wonder how the titanium affects the overall tone? What was the tone change going from the brass trem to that Steve?

When I picked it up, I notcied right away that it seemed to ring more clearly and loudly acoustically

(Playing it through the Cherry Bomb right now on the heaviest, most saturated setting)

Ok, this could be placebo effect, but, to be honest I didn't think it would have much tonal effect.

What I'm hearing is the guitar is a tad warmer sounding and I feel like I'm hearing a bit more harmonic content in the distortion. There is definitely more sustain, but maybe I could get that from one of those big brass block - I've never tried one. Best thing is the guitar stays in tune and it looks bitchen'!!! :D

Nicely done!
No self respecting Charvel would be seen without a Floyd!

I saw that last week at Joels shop. I couldn't believe how light that whole trem bar assembly was.
Then I went back on Tuesday to pick up my guitar and yours was done and sitting there and Joel was strumming it and it was VERY resonant acoustically. I'll bet it sounds fantastic.

Looks like it's going back to #1... Sounds friggin' awesome now...

R2 nut is indistinguishable playing-wise from my white one that has an R4 nut - only difference is it is 1/16" shorter on each side. I thought it would look funny because that wood is oiled in that dark golden oak, but get this - Joel oiled it so it looks identical to the rest of the neck. The guys attention to detail is nuts!

I just picked up another titanium Floyd for my spiral checkerboard star to replace the v-trem. I'm sold...

Not that you're running, but looks to me like you are in the running, none the less... Builder of the year, of course. ;)
