Bit the bullet this morning and called John at Stone Age Cabs... Been running my BE100 through an Avatar 2x12 with greenbacks and decided a killer amp shouldn't run through a budget cab. John is great to deal with, really took the time to go through each step and was very willing to share his own experience and knowledge in my decision process. Very personable and just a nice guy!

So... I went with the 2x12c cab, narrow open back, all black with gold piping (I like simple). Loading it with Scumback H75's... Like the title says, not cheap but wtf! It's gonna rock.......

It's not that Avatar are budget cabs
It's that Greenbacks are budget speakers

John sent me a pic... same specs as my cab will be. Just a little cab porn :)

What about Friedman?

It's not like they're Seventy-80's, but at 125$ a piece, they're pretty "budget", much more so than Avatar cabs

Right, because more expensive ALWAYS equals mo' bettah.

Some comments never cease to..you know the rest. Cabinet build absolutely makes a difference..it can make or break how you perceive your amp to sound. I've heard Greenbacks, V30s, etc sound great through one cab and shit through a different one..all with the same amp.

I been thinking about going with StoneAge 2x12C to match my BE-100 too. Its there a waiting list to get one ?

Thanks Moon!

Not a waiting list, just lead time to build. His cabs are handbuilt by John, basically a one man operation with a helper. He quoted 10 weeks but said he usually beats his estimates. Worth the wait to me!
