It's a sad thursday morning... Good bye 2x12

So last night, had a good jam session with a few guys. pushed my speakers pretty hard and i think i broke them in a bit more, as well as literally breaking them, and thrashed the cab...

My EVH 2 x 12 took a tumble down the equivalent of 2 flights of concrete steps from the vary top ( my bass player along with it). Standing there in aww as i watched my 2 month old 2 x 12 get absolutely destroyed....

What ever i only paid 950 for the head and the cab.

Would you guys get another evh 2x12? it did sound fairly good quality but, I'm kinda thinking of maybe trying v30s in another closed back

Kidding - glad (hope) he's OK.

If you liked it - get another. If not - there are some excellent big sounding 2X12's on the market.. though I do hear that those heads sound best with v30 style speakers.

He's cool he only made it down like 3 or 4 stairs. The cab though i swear it was like watching a nascar wreck, that cab just kept rolling faster and faster. luckily there wasn't a car in the road cause it flew into the street ahah.
 
Damn, sorry to hear about your cab and glad your bass player is ok. The Mesa Recto 2x12 sounds pretty good with it. I have the EVH ivory 2x12 I use with the matching 50 watt and my ivory 100 watt but use the Mesa when I run my EVH Stealth. Looks mean with it too. I really like the tilt function on the EVH's 2x12's though.

Nah, no pics. tossed it in the dumpster and called it a night and went home.

get a genz-benz 212 (ported) I've used one for 10 yrs no issues kicks ass with Einstein 100
