everytime i plug into that amp (marshall AVT), im always tempted to put the guitar down out of frustration. for leads its ok, everything else, just sucks. the clean is just plain sterile, flubby bottom end with no thickness, with or without boost, useless fx section, the list goes on......

sorry, pointless and dum rant over

People have been telling you that on here for a long time. There are plenty of cheap amps that sound a million times better than those things.

true, but im skint and any money i get from work goes on crap

Tip, play your electric acoustically and throw away your pick while your at it. You might be amazed at the things you can come up with. I remember reading that Warren Demartini of RATT took a trip to Hawaii back in the day and the Airline lost his Amp and he lost his pick.

He said he played all week with his fingers acoustically and when he came home he had Way Cool Jr. in the bag. Worth a try.

SAVE and stop complaining :gethim:

im sure i have read about you looking for a amp for FAR to long

When I play on my own I don't use any amps. Save your hearing & money, it's not worth it, unless you are playing out regularily.

Stop running away from your shadow, the tone is in fingers.

Sell it! Find you a VH140C, you will be happy  .
Poor mans "do it all" amp.

If you're $ is really super tight....check out a B-52 AT100 (not the other B-52s). I see them on CL all the time for around $300 and they fantastic for the $$.

Those Blackstar HT series 5 watt amps (and the new Vox AC4) are all tube, low cost and sound great IMO. If you go with the 10" speaker based combo, its even less than the head and cab. Not sure what they run in the UK?
