i hope your hand heals soon. i really want to hear *you* run through your amp will healthy chops, and hopefully you still have the nice recording equipment you used to have (great river pre, etc)
I would love to do that!
Well, unfortunately, my left hand is never gonna heal because there is no cure for focal dystonia, however, hopefully, once we get the dosage of the Botox correct, I'll get more time with the ability to play and practice. The initial shots I had lasted about 1 month (a very small dose) and I had complete control of my left hand while playing guitar. It was amazing - I could play things I hadn't been able to play for many years, but, alas, the effects wore off and now I can't play at all (except slide!). I get the next shots 12/18 and we'll go up in dose and hopefully it lasts the whole three months this time. You can only get the shots every three months. I'm researching some new approaches to this dystonia as well that use no shots or anything, but seem to be effective. You practice with and without a special brace that stops the finger from curling. Seems some people have had permanent cures from this new technique, but it's still early.
Anyway, still very hopeful of a solution and getting back to full time playing/practicing!
I still have killer recording equipment including the Great Rivers Pre and an Apogee Symphony I/O.

it would really be cool if you and curt could tag team the effort as i believe he has some recording gear as well and blazing lead skills.
That would be awesome! Curt actually made a cool new song with the CB with video and everything, but he has asked me to hold off on it for the time being. I can't wait until he is ready to release it as it sounds killer and his playing, as always, is awesome!

i know that hearing your amp in person at the LA gtr show was extremely cool and i think the world really hasn't heard the clear picture of what it can do though i appreciate mctallica1 and carl's and curt's clips do date.
There are some cool clips that show a lot of what it can do, but you are right, no one has seen the extent of what it can do but the owners. I really have to thank Tony (mctallica1) immensely for the heavy stuff he does with it - honestly, I had no idea the amp was capable of getting quite so heavy!

i also have a question; do you think the high gain side of your amp was inspired by cameron, and does it get that hi gain class of tone, or was it a mojave foundation you added more gain to, or was it something totally unique in your head?
The high gain side of the amp is inspired by the Marshall's I had modified by Jose Arredondo back in the 80s. I could never get that sound out of my head. Loved those amps and wish I never sold them, but, hey, I was young and needed the money!
Since Mark C was influenced by Jose, I guess you could say my amps have some inspiration from him as well (as you know I loved the CCV and his mods - I still have two of his amps an Aldrich and a one off custom Standel build). I wanted something slightly more organic, influenced by the cranked PeaceMaker. I wanted the PM roar, but also the ability to get more saturation like my old Jose mods. I also wanted a plexi-like channel that could be goosed with a slight edge of saturation s well. That was the idea.

and have you ever run an attenuator with it?
I haven't. with the channel masters and PPIMV, I see no reason for one.
