It's time to buy another amp...which one??

For open, agressive, raw, cutting tone - especially since you are in Europe - VH4, no question about it. The Uberschall would be an option also, but I'm kinda partial to European amps, and Diezel in particular :)

from the thousands clips i've heard on the net i found out that the vh4 and herbert are the most compressed and smooth of the amo i've listed....isn't it?

i never tried one though...it's really a shot in the dark, but before i'm buying again i'm gonna try it first! but as i said before i'm able to play every amp but at once, in different stores, far away from my hometown (3hrs)

You're right about the Herbert being compressed.
 
If you're not getting the Herbert, get the Uberschall.
 
yea, go to www.netmusicians.org and look for TITAN :) or look up my username (dimebag11) and you should see a couple titan clips...also, there are some on his FB or Myspace page (Titan's page) :rock:
 
is the nitro a good choice too? i heard it needs to be boosted to have enough gain for heavier stuff...

It's got plenty of gain without a boost...but, the boost helps with tightening it up etc....you may like it better with, or without...personal preference really (ala recto/5150) they all have plenty of gain but, sometimes a boost helps with the overall tone. A Mako Dorado might be a GREAT choice too :) My favorite amps are as follows (in no particular order)

Framus Cobra
Titan
Peavey 5150/6505
Mako Dorado
Diezel Herbert

I play everything incl. some crazy metal (on occasion :) with the 7 string and it's been awesome for anything I've thrown at it. I tried a triple rec for modern tone and it's not even in the same ball park - at all. The Mod50 has excellent cleans (i'm using the BMAN) - as good as u can get. I'm even running the EG3/4 module (still plenty of gain for me) and just scoop it with some EQ in the FX unit... sick metal tone. They also have the Erect, EG5 and MHG modules, all of which would probably give you more aggressive/less compressed tone, if you needed. I like nice mids (which is hard to do for a lot of amps) and I think that's where this amp's dist. channels shine the most.

They also made a Mod100, which i'm sure is loud enough for anything, if you required that much volume.

Eventually some that play grows as a guitarist/musician and realizes that tone is in the hands/head/fingers/heart and even a $400 amp can make you sound like a god "IF" you can play. Nothing wrong with owning a $10,000 amp if you wish but please make sure you have close mastery of your instrument or at least more than 10 yrs of playing or you'll soon find that expensive amp sound weak next to the $400 amp the next guy is playing only because he CAN play. My point is if you have a $2k amp and you're supposedly not getting your sound..you're also haven't gotten much practicing in.

When you can play, any amp can give you ANY tone you desire. The amp I recommend to everyone wanting to get serious is a Marshall DSL 2k, if they still make them. Play it until you burn it up and some day tell me "iTz cANt'S gETz mY t0NES" you'll get all you want out of it and more but you have to play. I see people here with 50k posts (no offense but don't bitch about ANY amp when you could have done more playing) talking about "i AmPZ sUCKs neEDs NEW o0NE". :doh:
 
i'm sure tone is in your hand, no doubt about it! but i'm not saying i cannot pull out the broootz from a mark IV either, i'm playing guitar since i'm 10 years old, played in bands since 15 and maybe because of that i can hear things in my amps that makes me looking for something else...and it's not the tonechasing or GAS-whatever...i'm sick and tired of changing amps. i would also like to ADD amps to my collection, not sell and then buy another....

there is also an inner character in every amp, that you cannot change, even if you're the holy master of GUITAR! otherwise there would be no reason to have 1392'901823 different amplifier projects around the world other than marketing anc compulsive buying ;) you can play the brootz with a fender deluxe reverb either and make it sound good, very good, for the genre or for your ear, but i'm not that sure that EVERYTHING can sound exactly like the tone in your head....

i think his post was directed to me, or at least at the forum in general, i agree with him with the fact that most of times (here and in the real world) people think to become better player or to get a better tone JUST purchasing a different amp...that's not completely right, as it's not the fact that tone is 100% in your hand, a part of the tone, the feel, the taste, but not completely....you know ;)
