I've never turned on my Mod50 and...

...and been disappointed.

With my old amp, whenever I went through periods like that without playing it, I would always build up the tone in my head, or suffer from rosie-retrospection; More often than not, when I'd finally get the change to fire it up again I'd be disappointed, always wanting to hear so much more out of the amp, or that it had magically improved after some beauty sleep.

Before yesterday, it had been a few weeks since I fired up my mod50. I was kind of ready for that kind of feeling again when I fired it up again after such a long time. Luckily, as you may have guessed, it was as great as I had remembered it. Even at late night/tv volumes I still couldn't turn her off (2am-5am, no joke).

Ever amp will sound different depending on what room it's in, the electrical source, or even the humidity and temperature. But every time I turn my mod50 on all I can do is smile from ear to ear. Almost a year later, I can say that any honey moon period should have subsided by now, and I'm sure I've found "the one."

Pretty sure you'll get the same feeling :D as I do when the M4 rolls out and destroy's all in it's path, just sayin :D

Couldn't agree more with the original poster. I almost get "afraid" to plug in sometimes in that I'll get that feeling of disappointment........but never seems to happen!!

I just absolutely love this damn amp and have for a few years now. Still no gas for any of the new stuff out there.

Couldn't agree more. Last weekend at NAMM, I found myself walking the show floor, (usually almost drooling at every little boutique amp company) just thinking, "That's not so impressive." I seem to have been given the little pill that now only allows for Egnater GAS.

You need both!

I 've been running the M4 rt/250 setup and the Mod 50 in the RJM looper and using both. Very nice to have options....not to mention 12 different preamp tones at the touch of a button.

I wish I could say the same. Every amp I've ever owned has it's days when I'm perfectly willing to sell it right there. It can be a million variables that changes the the tone. That's what tubes do. Right now in fact, I can't understand why my EG5 sounds so shrill and harsh. I'm just about to swap some tubes in it right now.

All tube amps are that way IMO.

I've had my Mod50 head for a few weeks and I'm loving it too. I've been playing it through my Bandmaster 2x12 cab but I just picked up a TM212 tonight which I am dying to play through after my kids are in bed. Although, earlier today I played through my Bandmaster head and was really blown away by how musical it sounded, which makes me a little sad to be selling it. I played through the T side of my T/D module next and after some tweaking, especially dialing back the mids and upping the bass and gain, it was pretty close. I think the Mod50 will shine like crazy with the TM212 though.
