Jackson guys...help with ID?

I found a Jackson Professional on my local craigslist and got some more information from the guy, but I still can't pinpoint what exact model and country of origin it is.

So here are some pics:

From a bit of internet sleuthing, I'm guessing this might be an early 90's MIJ Professional, but the guy seems to think it's a USA model. Here's his email:

"Thank you for your interest in my Jackson. I hope I can answer your questions.
I checked every inch of the guitar and it does not say where it is made.
I did some checking with a few guitar techs and they are saying that if the (Professional) <spelled out>
and not the (Pro) it is (Made in the USA). That the Pro has the cheap hardware, wood & paint.
In addition, there is no active system on them. They are made in Japan, Korea, Taiwan or all the above.
This Jackson has a Made in Germany by Schaller stamped on one side & Jackson Stamped
on the other side of the Floyd. It has a very heavy duty licensed under Floyd Rose Patents on it.
The neck is a bolt on and from what I have been told the (Made in U.S.A.) is on the butt of the
neck on the inside with the date that the neck was made near it. The body has the same on it.
I do not feel that I am qualified to do that. (Pull the neck) I can change strings and such,
However, I think that is over my head."


So can anyone help me ID it? And what might it be worth (ie-what should I pay for it)?

All professional or pro series are imports, NONE were USA made. 99% sure that is japan manufacture. Nice guitars, not a USA but not bad. Personally, I wouldn't pay over $600 for one in great shape.

Dinky Pro(I'm leaning this way b/c of the Schaller)

Very nice axe, similar to a Charvel 475

It's like a $400 guitar.

The guy sounds like a douche who wants too much $$$.

Looks like an early 90´s japanese-made Fusion Pro to me, essentially a Dinky Pro with a 24.75" scale. Definitely a very good guitar, the japanese Jacksons were plenty better back then, but it´s not a terribly valuable piece. If I´m right that little switch should control the parametric EQ sweep, which sounds kinda like a fixed wah.

But whatever model it is, it is a fact that it´s made in Japan in the early 90´s.

The Schallers on these sometimes require a little refurbishing, mostly due to wobbly pivot studs and stripped threads for the intonation screws, but that´s something that some teflon tape and a new baseplate takes care of real quick.

Agree with this...

Anything with "Professional" on the headstock is MIJ...period. Seller is a dumbass...

If you go to JCFonline.com there's a sticky with all the catologue pages scanned in from all the years...you can find it that way as well.

I had 2 of these Jacksons. They, as stated before, are a fusion pro. Japanese made. I payed $450 a peice for them and they are good guitars. Hope this helps. I snap these pics out of my Jackson/Charvel 1990-91 catalog.
