Just looking at this one on ebay. Not that I am planning on buying it, at least noe yet, but is wondering...

Thought all the SL-1's had 24 frets, and that the neck werw painted too...
Is this a fake or anything? Anyone know a lot about Jacksons that might know? It is a nice guitar though...

Thats a DK-1 (Dinky). Its not a fake, but a USA Made Jackson bolt on. The older models were 22 fretters. Now days they have 24.

Looks stunning...

Thanks for answering:)

Ok, I thought the DK-1 had EMG's...? cause they do nowadays.
Any information on this would be nice, I am looking for a strat-type Jackson with single-coils, just don't know excatly what to get yet.

You say older models? This one is supposed to be new. How old are we talking, and is this guitar worth the money, compared to the standard Jacksons today?

How is this, with bolt on neck compared to neck-through Jacksons? I already own a KE-2 and a Y2KV, both with neck-through.

*many questions, but it is hard to shop for a guitar half way across the earth, I live in Norway, the guitar is in the USA:)

Hello again,

Im not sure the exact date that the dinky's became 24fretters, but i *think* it was around 1998. If you are interest, find out the serial number from the seller and we can find out the year it was made.

The newer dinky's (i think since the 00's) have EMGs, before that they had seymour duncans. This is not a new guitar. There is a load of dirt in the pickup cavities (you can see on the photos), the bridge has wear on it consistent with palm muting. Also the headstock is filthy. I would be wary of this guitar.

Ive only played a Jackson DK1 once, but it was probably the best guitar I have ever played, if thats any consellation to you. The heel is like a Fender Strat - a square block, not curved like an Ibanez.

If you want more information, with dates and such go to the JCF http://www.jcfonline.com and post on their messageboards. Those guys know everything about Jacksons.

I hope i have helped!

Guitar bought:)
Yes the guitar is from 1997, mint condition, never used, only played once, when seller was checking that everything was allright. Been displayed in storewindow som time, and after seller closed down his musicstore, he has kept it in his personal collection since den.
