What are your thoughts on Jackyl? They’re a bit under the radar, but they’ve got some really listenable songs. Anyone here into them?

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen them. I was seeing them before they were signed. Hell I saw them before Jesse was in the band. They are a good time live. Never really cared for the chainsaw bit and I’ve seen Jesse have a few too many close calls with that thing in smaller clubs

I agree 100% a few good songs and the chainsaw song was kind of cool the first couple times but it ran its course. I'm not putting them down they made it to radio so they did better than I'll ever do.

when will it rain is a banger. hand full of good songs. they were killer live back in the mid 90's.

Back in my senior year of HS, during lunch the DJ table would always play Jackal because they knew everyone hated it. We're talking at least twice during lunch period every day. So I was overexposed to it and didn't care much for them, but they're actually pretty decent. Plus our local over the air morning rock jock is buddy buddy with Jesse, so when there's ever an opportunity to interject the name Jesse, he does.

I saw then when I was in 9th grade right before their album came out. This was at Mrytle Beach and the guy selling tickets for the band was was telling us "they play a guitar solo with a chainsaw" I didn't know what they meant and saw them for that reason alone. Not a big fan but I had a good time. Wrathchild America played 1 day after we left and I really wish I could have seen that one.

Saw Jesse with some hired guns play under the band name of "Marsha Clark". Only reason we went was because we got free tickets. They played nothing but Jackyl songs and it was actually pretty fun.

Good band, sort of in the AC DC greasy barky vein but the chainsaw sort of ran it's course for me as well.

I remember Jackyl came out when I was 21 or so. I remember how funny the cover was with the dogs pointing pistols at each other, etc. Lol. The "Lumberjack Song" is one of the weakest songs IMO. I love "Down on Me" and "Dirty Little Mind"

Dirty little mind is a great tune. My kids loved it when they were way young and I would drive them to school. Not sure they got the meaning.
