Channeling Freddy.....
Straight up!!!!!

It was an "officially sanctioned by Queen" tribute band that included Marc Martel along with Jeff Scott Soto along with two other singers (Yvan Pednault and Jennifer something). I think they just wrapped up their tour.
Marc especially shined on Freddie's prettier sounding stuff (Love Of My Life- fuckin' spine chilling how much he channeled Freddie, the verses to Bohemian Rhapsody, etc.) Decent job as a frontman. I appreciated that they didn't throw a thick mustache on him and have him prance around with a mic stand sans base like other Queen tribute bands, but you could tell that he couldn't help but throw in a strong Freddie punch in here and there.
fuzzyguitars hit it on the nose when saying he needs a bit more grit to sound just like Fred... especially on his top end. But a more than respectable job overall.
As a Queen nut, I loved the show. 2 1/2 hours of Queen including some of the deeper cuts like You Take My Breath Away and March Of The Black Queen. They had a couple of great guitarists named Brian Gresh (who added a little shred flair to everything) and Tristan Avakian (who did more note for note Brian May stuff). Jeff Scott Soto sounded killer on Stone Cold Crazy and Save Me. There two other vocalists (Yvan and Jennifer) sounded decent, but not rock n roll- kinda like watching American Idol contestants on Queen nite.
JSS had the best frontman presence out of all of them.
Overall, it was a great celebration of their canon, but totally missing was the bravado that Freddie performed with.

I Love Soto, he's a Monster singer.
I even dug the "Rockstar" movie soundtrack
that Jeff sang on.![]()
I saw "One Night of Queen" a few years back
and Loved every minute of that.
I'm a HUGE Queen fan and was hoping to
hear some lesser Main stream Queen songs
(White Man, Ogre Battle, Father to Son, Spread your Wings,
The Prophet's Song) etc....
but it never happened, still a Fantastic show overall.
The Frontman was another Fantastic Freddie Clone,
his name is Gary Mullen and he looked, moved & sounded
just like Freddie. It was very enjoyable but I still
miss the Legendary Freddie Mercury!!
This is Gary Mullen:
