Well I picked up one of these a couple of months ago and it didn't do much for me when I first plugged it in so I contacted the seller and he told me to send it back and he would look at it. Well I didn't want to mess with that so I kinda stck it in a corner and forgot about it (it was less than $300 after all).
So the other night I got it out and figured I would mess with it, so when I turned it on it made all kinds of effed up noises. (even worse ones than if I was playing thru it). Found a bad preamp tube and GAWDDAMN!!!!! This little amp screams!! Used it in rehersal last night and it will hang wih the band just fine.
I'm amazed that, after all the $$$ I've spent chasing tone, that one of the better ones I have found cost less than $300.

If you haven't had the chance to check one of these out, I suggest you do!

You think it sounds good now?....send it to Brian (briango2000) at BFG. He'll turn it into such a fire breather that you'll need to keep a fire extinguisher next to it at all times.

It has already been there! My other guitar player(greenmosheen) bought the one that was on here Saturday.

I bought a JCA20 head with a loop installed and 1x12 cab with a weber greenback in it here locally for $300. The amp is a strange critter. I can't really say it has any sort of memorable tone, but it does what it does and sounds good doing it. I keep the gain around noon and adjust controls to taste. I keep it fairly bright. It has a nice girthy tone and cuts. I hit it with pedals for some extra bump.

I wouldn't want it as my only amp, but it's a great little setup to grab and go and play rock and roll for cheap.

I do like the clips I've heard, at least in terms of making it a higher gain beast. I kind of like it the way it is, though. It doesn't do clean, but will cover a lot of ground and it's a fun amp to play. Feels nice too.

I'm with you. I have a 22H and I like it just the way it is--I don't think it needs modding.

YES!! I had the one with BE/SAT/LOOP, and it was everything you could hope I might be. I traded it for a "real" Friedman - modded Metro, but I will say this -- the JC gave up very little to that Metro. It really had the mojo!
