i hate mine. sorry, had too just to be argumentative.

i like mine. it could use the fortin mod. will be doing it as soon as i sort some stuff out.

I've only played one, and it was a used one in a Guitar Center, but it sounded like total crap.

I liked it when I tried it out. I saw them on closeout a few months back but I couldn't justify getting one sine I have a JVM which sounds fairly similar and a VHT Deliverance which has a very similar set of features, minus the noise gate.

Must have been something wrong with it or something. I cranked the one I tried out through a Bogner cab at the store using my Les Paul Custom and it sounded pretty awesome.

I played through one a few months ago in St Paul, MN at a local guitar shop and I thought it sounded good!!! I am sure the Fortin mod would be killer though!!!

We had one at Lugo's 2010 AmpFest. When that thing came on, it was like all the air got sucked out of the room and nobody could breathe. Punishingly loud, great sound--if I could get one at a reasonable price, probably would.

It's certainly a possibility. That's why a mentioned the setting, because I know stuff can be messed up at GC. I did play it through a recto 4x12 to try to help. But this one was complete ice pick, angry bees tone.

Glad to hear the entire line isn't like that. I had actually gone into that GC to buy the KK head, but I just couldn't buy that particular one after playing it.

Had one should've never sold it. Stock jcm on one side hot Rodded marshall on the other. Noise gate works perfect on it. Loud as hell n kt88s give it a lot of breathing room. Also sounds great clean. My 2cents .....

I thought it sounded pretty damm good, the KK graphics and thought of it being his amp totally killed the deal for me.

I think that they are decent amps but I much prefer the Fortin Modded ones and that's not a sales pitch because I sell them. It's because it's the truth.

Here is a clip of a Fortin Modded KK amp.

Honest opinion and I agree.

I wish some guys would pimp their stuff more like Curt and Greazygeo, AWESOME guys to deal with and they sell some great gear.

I thought it was ok,but much preferred the jvm 210 over it.

I bought 2 of them awhile back, and they did NOT sound the same. Eventually sold one of them, but kept the one that sounded good.
My only issue is that in a band setting, i feel like i need slightly more mids, and it has a bit of compression when high gain is used. Higher gain you go, less disinct the tone, less cutting.
However...
Use less gain, and through the right cab, this amp is positively crushing.
Ive had it for years now and dont plan on selling any time soon.
And i pitted it against my old Mesa Stiletto, thinking the Mesa would kill it in the store, and I was very wrong. Also pitted against a JVM410, the KK had much better overall tone, and more useful gain, whereas the JVM just got screechy and compressed mush with too much distortion.

But...
Only having the 1 channel kind of sucks.
But if you only need distortion, its great, especially with the built in Noise Gate!
I wish all my amps had that built in the front panel.
