switching between the boss and ZW overdrive set about the same.. hard to tell a difference?

Sounds great, what guitar, pickup and speakers are you running?

amp settings? I'm just starting to explore this amp a bit more.

Nice playing! Sounds great, nice n warm....great tone. All you need, a Marshall and a few diff boost pedals for flavor. Definitely similar between the two pedals. Awesome job Martin!

Tom thanks...

I'm using my les paul with seymour duncans 59/Pg... speakers are (ducking) vintage 30's. Eq pretty straight up around the noonish mark... dry, no effects just a little overdrive for harmonics and edge.

Love the Duncan 59, I've got one in my LP copy.

Clip sounds good-are these your riffs?

Hey, more power to ya if you can get a Marshall+V30s to sound good. Other than a Jubilee I've never dug the combo.

What are you playing through now? :rock:

Oh hell, there's a question... :lol: :LOL: I've sold "down" a lot, but I kept:

Mesa Rectos (George Lynch's old Rev C, Rev F, Rev G)
Mesa Mark IIC+ and IIC++
Mesa Triaxis/Strategy 400 Rig
'79 JMP and '81 JCM 800 (2203s)
Bogner Uber (Original/Rev 1)
Peavey 5150 (First year block)
Diezel VH4

...various other pieces of rack gear, but that's the "big" stuff.

It gets said a million times but worth repeating... 50$ overdrive and a 500$ overdrive... there isn't 450$ difference in price when you compare the tone at volume. The SD-1 and it's derivatives with this circuit is just plain magic. it sounds just as good as any Cameron or Friedman. You can land anywhere in the world and find an SD-1 in a pinch and ram it through a DSL and you will have a very usable tone. It is pure magic through the 800 though. Despite my fucking around with other circuits, the 800 with an OD or stacked Clean boost for lead is my go to.
