jcm800 50 watt combo earl 80's model or reissue jcm800 mode

considering modding either 50 watt jcm800 2x12 combo or jcm 800 re-issue 100 watt amp. what is better to do ? Also considering removing the combo chassis and putting it in a separate headshell case and pairing it with either 2x12/4x12 for more bottom end. Any thoughts good or bad about these options what to do? Has anyone done this before?
Or leave the combo as is and just use some distortion/clean boast pedals to get the saturation happening ?
