I know this is like installing a 4 cylinder in a Ferrari for some but it can be fun to muck around sometimes and just try different things. If you have a couple of dirt pedals and want to run your 800 perhaps differently than you have before give these settings a try.

I stole these settings off TGP. I have a 4 holer I normally use for my pedals only rig but this was kinda fun. Give em a try. YMMV.

- Plug into LOW input
- Master volume 10 (full on)
- Preamp: to taste (use to control output volume, this is now the master)

- Bass 10 (full on)
- Midrange 4
- Treble 2-4 (depending on how bright your 800 may be, I needed even a little more
- Presence OFF

Big clean tone that my Riot was sounding good into, lots of singing sustain and a FAT clean that I really enjoyed. Again, YMMV.

EDIT: this particular amp was 2204 with EL34 Winged C's.

My main amp used to be a 2204 with Winged C's. No matter what pedals/settings I used, I always liked the High input better. It was far more deafening, but I found the Low really lost a lot of the amp's "balls" for lack of a better word.

The JCM 800 is a great pedal platform. I use it for my effects pedals as the 'wet' amp, while I run the MarkIV alongside it for 'dry'.
