Looking for recommendations for speakers with a 1981 jcm800 2203 with el34’s, being pushed with a rat type pedal for some pretty high gain but still vintage(70’s/80’s) sound. Very thick and warm but won’t fart out when playing thrash type stuff. Guitar is a flying V with Wolfetone Marshallhead pickups. Will be putting the speakers in a Marshall 1960av 4x12. Some examples of some influences that I’m trying to blend together are here

As well as a healthy dose of Sabbath

800s and G12 65s are a great match. Or Greenbacks, earlier T75s (from the 80s if you can find them)...those 3 are my recommendations.

Any from the Celestion Heritage line are fantastic speakers and sound great right out of the box, I've been through quite a few speakers and none came as close to the Heritage line IMO. The 75HZ 12H-30 are a bit crisper with a tighter low end. The 55HZ also sound great plenty tight but have a response more in the vein of that woodier pulsonic greenback tone but still has the backbone of the 12h-30 just a little warmer and thicker.

I bought a quad of each last year for my other two cabs that had greenbacks in them that I just never jived with as much as I wanted to, guess I'm just not a greenback guy, I've tried almost every version. I love the Heritages 12H-30's, they sound as good as my original 12H-30's that are in my 79 1982B Marshall cab that I have had for decades.

I also have a Heritage G12 65 reissue in Marshall JCM style combo amp that sound really good as well, it's a little warmer akin to a greenback but more like a 12H-30 IMO. I would like to hear these in a 4x12 sometime, Racerxrated's been swearing by them since forever with JMP's and JCM, they were supposed to be a 65 watt Greenback by design in the mid 80's but they have their own mojo.

Here's the clip that made try the 55Hz Heritages, I'm so glad I did, great speakers.

Here's my 69 Marshall SL into the Heritage 55HZ with a SRBOD808 in SD-1 mode with a 14K Duncan Custom

Same setup with a 9K Duncan 78 model

Celestion Marshall G12 Vintage is what I like

These sound great. The hidden gem of Celestion speakers.

I’ve got a 2x12 with a horizontal thiele port along the bottom. 1 G12H75 and 1 G12H55 side by side. In many applications I prefer it to a 4x12!

I've become a big fan of Lynchbacks recently. I wish I didn't wait until they were discontinued to give them a shot.

If anybody sees this and has 8ohm Lynchbacks laying around, sell them to me! I need MORE!
