Johnny don’t fret. Even if needledick wins they’re not gonna go Christian taliban on your granddaughters. Democrat media is just stirring you up man.

The thing is, I've known about the Christian nationalist movement for over 30 years now because a friend at my church explained it to me and I wanted nothing to do with it. Back then they called themselves Dominionists. The religious right played the long game for 50 years to overturn Roe v. Wade. The Christian nationalist movement has been doing the same thing to establish an American theocracy for several decades.
I WANT to be wrong about that movement but sadly I'm not, bro.

they're coming to take you away, Johnny.

Not sure if you actually read the article, but the outrage seems a bit over the top or just plain fake. Almost as if you didn't actually read the article. It's an angled hit piece to get easily riled up people, riled up. It's pretty obvious given words like "seem" and "come under fire" when it hasn't by anyone but the people writing the commercial that they just fed you. Also, did you really speak to all of the women in your life to speak for them in your message to JD (that I'm sure doesn't post in OTC)? Y'all usually just sitting at the dinner table complaining about politics?

Christian Nationalism? Roe v Wade? American Theocracy? Witch trials?

If ignorance is bliss, you must be ecstatic. Have a good evening.

The interview in question, with the timestamp to the section in question (35:40-ish) linked directly:

I watched a few videos you posted a while back, and I just didn’t find the idea that Christian nationalists are going to hijack the country compelling. In my view there seems to be little evidence for it. Maybe their ranks are getting bigger, or maybe their presence is just more accessible via the internet. Either way I can’t see how they would ever assume power. JD is probably closer to some of that than most politicians, but face it, at the end of the day he’s a tech bro corporatist. Trump is more Christian friendly, but some kind of religious zealots? No. Sure, I can’t predict the future, and maybe I’m wrong, but I really think there are bigger and more realistic threats than that. And as far as I’m concerned, overturning Roe V Wade is a good thing politically, as the more states assert their independence to enact law and govern instead of being swallowed by the federal government the better.
