I just need to pull the plug on my Reverb account, I'm just tired of dealing with silliness, and I'm content with the gear I have. Plus, sooner or later, I'll have to deal with taxes if it ever happens, (wether I owe or not, still a hassle). This should be a sign from above - its a new year, stop selling shit!

Anyway, Karen #1 buys a Wampler Equator on 1/4 evening. 1/5 at 6:00AM, it's in the mailbox on my way to work and shows being picked up. Then, radio silence, no scans. This happens ALL THE TIME. This is a Friday, mind you. The first of the week, he's hitting me up for a full refund, saying it's lost! I told him, be patient, thus happens all the time, and he has a hissy fit. Then, that night, it updates, and is in his mailbox 2 days later. It's USPS, what can I say? Somehow, I'm the asshole...

Sold my PT-20, guy pays 1/10. I pack it up that night, take it to work with me the next day 1/11. But, UPS either didn't show, or failed to grab it. I take it and drop it off at UPS myself today, 1/12 and let him know. He flips out wanting to know why there's such a lengthy delay, and proceeds to explain the rules of Reverb that I have 48 hours to ship. Firstly, it's technically 72, (three business days), and 99.9% of the time, and would have happened in this case, I ship in 24hrs. I have 400+ transactions, all saying "fast shipping", "as described", "great seller", etc., yet this tickturd thinks I'm a horrible person for a "fluke" causing a 48 hour ship time. And has only a handful of transactions to my 400+ 5-star "Preferred Seller" status, suddenly I'm clueless... It went in 2 days.

It's going to be the year of the Karen, (though it already was). You can't please people. People are just getting more and more self-entitled. And I work in Sales/Manufacturing. Get bitched out by customers not getting stuff.. We suck because of things out of our control. And, it's only going to get worse. These wars in the red sea and shipping lanes are really going to cause another Covid-like supply chain issue. We're already getting warning letters from our suppliers.

Sadly that’s the way it goes in the era of Amazon prime one day shipping bullshit. I bet it’ll soon be the standard expectation for everything to be overnighted on the sellers dime.

Man, I have some stuff I want to sell, but people like that just scare me away from trying.

Yeah, it's just a different environment out there these days. Too many entitled idiots that thrive on instant gratification with zero patience. I sold about $8K worth of stuff last year on Reverb in the span of about two months in order to recoup funds used to purchase a "fun" car that I had bought on a whim (and because it was a screaming deal), all the while just dreading the taxman. But, I couldn't give the stuff away otherwise and Reverb really was the best option at the time. I took a gamble hoping that they would squash the reporting again for this tax year and it paid off, managing to dodge that bullet. Luckily, I've only had one issue of a remorseful buyer (either on Reverb or during 20+ years on eBay) but I feel like it would happen eventually if I kept going. The odds are just too great. I threw a few things back up on Reverb in December when the news came out about the tax reporting being suspended again, but I pulled what hadn't sold about two weeks before the end of the year. I'm done listing anything online anywhere but on CL and FB Marketplace (and maybe on the forums a bit) but it's going to either be cash deals or PPFF from here on out. My dilemma in selling locally, is that folks in these parts don't have a lot of discretionary income to speak of. Selling online was my best option. Luckily, it's be a long time since I've HAD to sell anything so I can afford to be patient and wait for the right buyer or just keep whatever it is. I'm pretty much content to have it either way.

Plus, like you, I'm pretty much happy with what I've got right now so the GAS is at an all time low.

On the flip side, don't you love it when a seller marks an item as shipped and prints a shipping label so they can get paid but will take 3-4 days to actually ship your item? I've been patient except for one time when it was on the 6th day since I purchased an item and the seller told me to chill out and he's been extremely busy with work. Sure dick....it was another 2 days after before he finally dropped off the pedal to USPS.

I've been very lucky so far on no complaints on shipping luckily. Only complaints and rants on why I don't accept someones laughable low ball offers even when you state on your listing description low ball offers will not be answered to. Some fuck face had the nerve to bitch me out because I didn't formally decline or counter his stupid low ball offer and my pedal sold for my asking price before he had a chance to raise his offer. I responded with LOL and left at that.

You're 2024 years too late in wishing Jesus a Happy New Year. Perhaps 2025 years because that last year wouldn't of turned out so happy for him I suppose.

Everyone in this day & age should know that USPS tracking isn't reliable at all. Probably 60% of the stuff I get shipped through them shows up in my mailbox after several days of no tracking updates.

The ONLY time I had that happen to me was Guitar Guru Network, (Twice), and another horse's ass that does the same shit, "When Wire Meets Wood". Both were, (one famous here), drop-shippers that took your money and didn't have the item they claimed to.

I agree, it's shitty. But, to my defense, like posted above, if it takes me 2 days to ship, it's a fluke. People that have bought from me here will tell you that. I'm anal about it. I won't even list an item if I'm not prepared to pack it IMMEDIATELY.

COVID turned a lot of people into giant pms’ing pussies. And there’s three types in this world; pussies, dicks, and assholes.

Just for fun (and since I stole it)

It’s going to be the year of the Karen? Whoa guy. The century of the Karen began long ago. It’s a given that when on reverb, you will deal with every shyster and undesirable on the platform. A close second is the partial refund crew. These inhuman scammers see the partial refund as an integral part of wheeling and dealing on reverb and don’t see it as a scam. Reverb is a platform from the darkest depths of hell itself, inhabited and populated by creatures of greed, dark desires, and the fury of denial. Ever notice when you turn down an offer how wild most these guys go and how appalled they become?

Prepare for the century of Karen’s, shysters, scammers, and heavy, heavy undesirables. I’m sure you’ve all noticed the immense increase in theft, chaos, scammers, and all around greedy, bad and morally bankrupt psychos. They all share the same traits such as wild ignorance, the greatest heights of greed, zero morals, an infinite hunger for chaos and inducing fury and rage in others, and delight in the destruction of fellow human beings. This, they can’t get enough of.

The darkness is upon us my friends! The end fast approaches! Prepare!! The Karen’s have multiplied like cockroaches and are ingrained in every aspect of American society! Karenism is a powerful contagion often infecting anyone it touches. Beware!!

I actually know all these stories to be true but lately I have had some great patient buyers including one guy where screwed up on shipping. I worry more about all the crap you go through if something gets lost or damaged.

If I were the buyer I'd be all kinds of pissed. I expect everything to show up at my front door the moment I click the pay button. Fucking useless sellers taking a full 12 hours to ship. WTF!!!!

We entered the age of „feelings“. Everything now revolves about your feelings and people act accordingly. If reality does not match with how you feel, people don’t adjust anymore, they expect the world around them adjusts to them.

That statement hurt my feelings!

Was messaging a seller for an item a few weeks ago; he had the OEM hard case for extra charge but it wasn't in the listing so I sent him a message for the bass, the case and shipping. He replied that it was a fair price and sent the invoice, but said it would take him two days to ship; did the deal and he shipped on 1/3, two days from my purchase as he stated.

USPS system said USPS had possession 1/3. Then, nothing, no updates for 2-3 days. The seller was not happy, apologized I said, not your fault etc. He was checking USPS a few times a day, called them several times, and sent me update messages, with apologies. When it finally arrived 3-4 days after it was supposed to be delivered, well packed, intact and as advertised I let him know.

I was happy; Seller was happy and thanked me for being patient; and I said again, USPS delay wasn't his fault. Seller was more worried about it than I was, he must have dealt with many karens on reverb.
