I made a clip of my JCA100H on the clean / normal channel w/ gain set at 9:00...

I swapped V2 with a Tung-Sol 12ax7

I added some Reverb in Sonar when recording it..

That's all...

Nice playing as well!

Was the reverb added in post or thru the loop?

It was added post in Sonar 8.5 (my recording software)..

It was a reverb that comes with Sonar.. Sonitus..

I added no EQ or compression.. Just the Reverb..

I made several mistakes in the playing.. Thanks for the complement though.. :D

How is the FX loop on that amp? Better than the SLO or the same? Thanks.

Very nice dude! The 20 watter can't get quite that clean. I think its one channel is the crunch channel on the 100 watt version

I have never used the loop on a SLO, but it is a real good loop IMO.. It takes pedals better than the last two amps I had.. The Blackstar HT-5 and the Valveking 112.. I would have used the loop, but all I have is a $30.00 Behringer reverb pedal, and although I would call it ok at best.. I need to get a higher quality reverb for the loop.. Perhaps an Alesis Nanoverb.. Maybe a EH Holy Grail..

Suggestions?

Yes, the "normal" or clean channel is the same as the one channel in the 20 watter.. The reason I can get it so clean is because of the ridiculous amount of headroom in the 100 watter's volume... I believe the 50 watter will get there as well, but perhaps with less room to spare... I had the gain set at 9:00 or a little less than "2" on the dial.. The volume was between 3 and 4 on the volume dial for recording, but at 6-7 or so on the dial it is at stage volumes..

Perhaps if you want a cleaner sound on the 20H you could swap preamp tube V1 (closest to the input) with a reissue Mullard or another lower gain tube..

Malekko Chicklet Reverb. Fantastic little unit, and is cheap as chips, with great customer service available.
